Honestly, I wish I would have done my research better. I failed to check the reviews posted online. After doing so, I realized that the majority of online students were having similar problems as I.
I wish i had known that i needed to prepare myself a little better for the extra workload but that is all scheduled out now and i am doing great!
The online program is very challenging, but rewarding.
I wish I had known that I would be a good student and would be able to achieve success in college because I am smart enough.
I wish I had known that they do not offer their online students any type of scholarships.
I wish I had known the VA was so picky, and someone had told me my classes were back to back for a reason. I am short money for 8 more classes to complete my major BA in Environmental Studies, and minor in Human resources.
Mostly everything was spelled out. I guess the only thing would have been that it was not as difficult to get used to the online learning as I thought there would be. The professors and staff are very helpful and most want you to succeed.
I wish I had known that there is not a full scheduled bus that would take me to Davenport,Iowa.
For some reason I looked at the cost differently then what it is. When I looked at the cost to attend the online portion of their school, I saw the per credit cost at $400 is dollars. I for some reason assumed that cost was for each class, not for each credit for some reason. When I went back to look at it I realized that I had made a costly mistake. Instead of having the last 10 or so classes that I have to take cost around $4,000 it will cost around $15,000.
I wish I would have known their method of study, i.e., that they take one course at a time. Also, I would have wanted to know how much financial aid I was going to receive before enrolling. I wished I would have noticed which kinds of financial aid they provide. i.e., loans, grants, work study, and other programs like these. I wished I would have known how helpful they are compared to other schools that I have attended. That's about it.
That online students have no options to join clubs, groups, etc. If you aren't an o-campus student, you just don't matter.
I wish I would have learned about this school a lot sooner.
Online courses can be very time consuming.
That you have an option to take two classes at a time after completeing the first class.
I wish I had known how hard it would be to obtain scholarships and grants. Attending this school (or any school for that matter) is expensive, and working full-time and going to school full-time becomes very tiring. It will all be worth it in the end though. I'm already halfway there!
I really don't wish for anything that I knew before attending Ashford University the teachers are very helpful, all the assignments are very clear what you have to do and all the resources Ashford has for the students is pretty interesting. I am looking forward to be going to school at Ashford when I first signed up in February the gentlemen was really nice and helping me get very thing set up with financial aid, my transfers from the other school and getting my classes picked out for me.
I wish that I could have found this school before applying to my local community college. The classes at the community college were great, but hard to deal with because I was working a 50 hour a week job and trying to go to school on a part time basis. Some of the professors didnt care that you had a job and they wanted almost impossible things done for the classes. I wish that Ashford would have popped up on my search for schools when I was researching different colleges to help with my education for my Early Childhood Degree.
None of the teachers are willing to write a letter of recommendation (even the classes where I earned 99-100% on everything, as they said they did not know me well enough to write a letter of recommendation.
I wish I would have known about the required courses that are forced on to the students. Most importantly, I wish I could have known how serious the grading policies were and how they compare to other colleges, all types.. The grading just seems to be far too lenient at times, THis could be explained by the fact that I am a highly experienced stuident with nearly five years of total college or that I am peaking now and am on the top of my game but I am surprised at how high some of my grades have been.
I wish I had know how convienant and helpful the staff and instructors at Ashford are. I wish I had known about Ashford 15-20 years ago. I would not have wasted any precious moment on any other college I have attended in the past.
I believe that I am pretty well informed about Ashford University at this point. I will be starting classes in January and so far everyone there has been extremely helpful and a joy to work with. It would be helpful to have a little more information on the website about online classes; how it works, the requirements, costs involved. So far I am happy with the school and look forward to starting classes to work towards my goal of becomming a dietitian.
I wish I had known a year ago that this school offered the course I was interested in and I would be almost finished with my degree by now.
I love this school and would recomend this school to anyone interested in going to school on-line.
I wish I had known about how many scholarships and grants are out there to receive a degree before I came to this school or I would havbe sign up for school a long time ago. I wish I known how easy and convenient online Ashford University would be and how helpful the staff and teachers are in making sure you complete your school with good understanding.
I am currently enrolled in the online program at Ashford University and I wish I had known that learning on your own is much more difficult than I could've ever imagined. My advice would be to make sure that you are a strong inpdependent worker and also that you shouldn't mind studying and doing all of your assignments all alone. When we turn assignments in then you can converse with your classmates. It also requires you to be a very visual person. If you're an auditory learner online learning isn't for you.
I really wish I would have know the flexibilty of taking online courses, I would of doen this years ago had I researched it a long time ago. It is really nice being able to pretty much set your own hours. If you have the motivation, and you have high goals for yourself I would highly recommend Ashford, I am really impressed and please with the advisors and the professors. I like the class size and how freindly everyone has been!
I was pretty well prepared before hand.
I think the most challenging part about going to this school is doing it online. It is something very new to me. I wish I had known a little bit more about computers, before I came to this school. It has been a sort of trial and error process for me thus far.
So far I have no regrets about choosing Ashford. I did a lot of research before I decided on Ashford. No other college could meet my requirements.
Time management is probably the best thing to have when you are attending college. Trying to balance school, work, and family. That can be a little tricky, so stay focused.
I wish I would have know if I was able to receive Financial Aid for school or not. I wish I had more time to look through different resources and different kinds of scholar ships.
i wish that i had learned how to read and learn more about the finacial status that was to come. I think i was not prepaired of the cost that i was willing to pay for each semester.
Before I went to any kind of college I wish I would have known more about my options to pay for school. I also wish I would have known not to choose a private university right away. Going to a community college first definitely helps save money in the long run. Unfortunately, being the first in my family to go to college, I didn't exactly have anyone to help guide me through the whole college process. I would have made some choices differently that would benefit myself and my family financialy.
I wish I would have known where to find more scholarships and grants to help to pay my tuition because I am now burdened with trying to keep up with school work, caring for my husband and the house hold, preparing my oldest son for college and searching for scholarships for both of us. If I would have known I would have done this before I began college. Never the less, it is still exciting. I also wish I would have known that I had to pay for books out of my already tight budget. However, my family made sacrifices.
How long it would take before anyone contacted me after I leave messages and questions about issues that need immediate feedback.
I wish that I had known about all of the obstacles in my life that would prevent me from continuing my education right after high school, and how to move around them without all of the sacrifice involved.
If I'd known it was possible to complete my degree online, I would have enrolled sooner. The flexible schedule is convenient and the courses are challenging and interesting. The teachers are excellent and the staff is supportive and helpful. They have made the experience of returning to school after a long hiatus enjoyable rather than daunting.
I recommend to anyone thinking of starting or returning to college who has been unable to do so due to obstacles like being unable to physically get to a campus or being unable to pay high tuition, to consider pursuing their education online.
How much tuition is and the disbursement schedule of financial aid funds. I new the amount of tuition, but didn't realize the financial hit my aid was taking before I saw any remainder of funds.
Nothing really. Everything was very easy to understand and many of the questions I had about coming to the university I had answered very quickly.
The amount of time I would have left to balance family, work, and friends.
I am a non-traditional student obtaining my degree online. I have attended other colleges (a community college and a university) where I lived on campus.
I wish I knew how much more difficult it would be to go to college later rather than going right after graduating from high school.
That the financial aid I was told I had qualified for did not cover all the charges each term or leave enough for books. I would have chosen a school that I would have qualified for a scholarship at instead of having to take two student loans and a pell grant each semester. I would have chosen a better financial advisor he is absolutely no help whatsoever. He did not even know where I should look for additional funding when I asked so I could reduce my full time job to a part time. The academic advisor has been incredible.
I wish I had knew that it is cheaper attending school in State than out of State. I also did not realized that it would be as difficult and expensive as it has been to travel back and forth from Clinton to Denver. Commuting has been very difficult and extremely expensive.
I knew all I needed to before continuing with admissions.
Since this campus offers online courses, my wish is for better research and writing skills which would allow better grades. Also a better understanding of time management to complete work in a timely manner.
Honestly, I cannot complain about anything that I have experienced so far with the school. Everything that I was told about the school has been true and it was been a wonderful decision for me to start here with Ashford University.
I didn't know anything about Ashford University and everything I have learned has been awesome.
I wish my parent could have given me more financial advise and guidance towards my major.
As a senior in high school, I look back fondly at almost all of my classes and wished I would have taken my studies more seriously. Because I would of had more discipline to better prepare myself for college and the challenges it holds.
