Country
I think a major stereotype is that it is a hard school to get in.
conservative, rich, frat-like,
Everyone thinks that we are redneck kids because we are down south.
I'm not sure of any
That it is Southern and slow, we have two types of people as well, those who are greek and those who are not.
they are friendly, welcoming, southern
That it is a southern school that is made up of mostly white students.
I think one of the stereotypes about Auburn students is that we are all really country. Many students aren't even from the South. The ones who are most of the time don't have that strong of an accent and don't live anywhere near a farm.
well I guess the typical sorority girl or fraternity boy...
I feel that people think that a lot of Auburn students have money and are very preppy.
They are rednecks. Greeks are stuck up and they dont like other people.
Southern stereotype-objectify women, racist, etc.
I have heard things like Auburn Greek life is a joke.. but I haven't heard anything else negative about the school.
Some sterotypes are that lots of rednecks go to auburn.
That we are really country
that it is a farm town and there is not much to do here
not really sure. I came from out of state and really didn't know much about the culture at Auburn. But before i came i guess i expected it to be very southern, conservative, and a place where student are really active and involved.
I honestly have not heard any.
that were all really country
We are rich and stuck up and are really southern
very southern
racist, rednecks
a bunch of rednecks, all sorority girls here are stuck up, we are dumb
sorority or fraternities have different stereotypes
counrty, small boring town, all southern ppl, very greek
half of the students are said to be rich kids who live off daddys money and drive nice cars.. the other half are said to be country rednecks who only had to spell their name to get in.. obviously the regular stereotypes exist about sorority girls and fraternity guys (stuck up, pay for friends, etc)
Hicks, 'back-up school', 'cowtown'
If you are from Georgia and you go to Auburn everyone assumes that you couldn't get into UGA.
I have not really heard of any stereotypes except that our students may be "redneck."
That we are all rich southern students and that we hate black people. Also, that the women and men in sororities and fraternities are stuck up.
Everyone is rich and preppy. Auburn is percieved as a farm college that is full of hicks.
sorority girls, frat guys, dumb blondes
That we are smart, rich, rednecks
Its in a cow town people are country
Southern/country Smart The Plains Southern Bells Top Football Team Involved
I thnk there are two stereotypes about Auburn students: If you ask people who are not from the south about Auburn, often times they will think that just because we are from Alabama, we are a bunch of rednecks from rural communities. If you ask those who are from the South about Auburn, often times they will think that Auburn is made up of mainstream, middle to upper class white students. Also, people from Alabama and other parts of the Southeastern US usually mention that Auburn has a reputation for having a pretty campus, classy people, and a great small town feel. However, no matter who you ask, most people know that Auburn has great athletic tradidion - especially in the football rivalry with the University of Alabama!
all auburn students have a lot of money and all the people in the greek system are stuck up and only into greek life.
Southern (therefore poorly educated)
That they are country, and Auburn is a bunch of trailers and cow fields, and that the girls are stuck up
That they have a lot of fun and everyone that comes out of auburn says they love it. It is a very well thought about university and many people that go here are considered "wealthy." It's a party school.
That we are redneck country people.
I have heard students at other schools talk about how we're a bunch of rednecks because we are known for and have such a good Ag school.
People from other schools think that most people who go to Auburn are very southern.
southern and conservative
Somewhat "country", rural south
