Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is a great college with its strong academic programs, supportive community, and beautiful campus. It offers a well-rounded education and an inclusive environment that fosters personal and intellectual growth.

I do not regret my choice for Augustana University. The campus is welcoming and every professor is not only available, but helpful as well. In the education program, the professors are willing to help you with anything and everything in your life, especially if it relates to kids! There is a lot of culture mixing and the class sizes are small, so you get to know everyone. The school is a strong community that does everything in it's power to give you the leg up you will need when they send you out into the real world. They really prepare you for anything and everything, making sure that you are the best of the best.

Lindsey

The student body is small enough that you can know every body, at least by sight if you are so inclined. There are plenty of friendly people, though the overall campus atmosphere can be fairly cold compared to other colleges of this size. The professors are amazing, the food is good, and the dorms are decent. It does tend to be rather expensive, but they offer good scholarships. Definitely worth checking out.

Augustana College, now known as Augustana University, is wonderful. Augustana Unversity is best known for its art program, and as a major in the arts, this is extremely important to me. It's also important that the professors are always available. In fact, the professors are more like friends here. They will always be there for a student and will help them in any way they possibly can. Another important aspect of Augie is student life. There is always some sort of event going on, whether it be a movie or a concert, students are normally involved in the majority of events that happen around campus. However, there are some downfalls to the Augustana and the biggest one happens to be the food. It's definitely not the best and can sometimes be downright sketchy. It is, for the most part, edible and as a college student, that's all that really matters. To conclude, overall Augustana Unversity is a great university. It provides students with all their educational needs and keeps them entertained.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself to really do a lot of research on what the best college would be to go to. You spend a lot of money for college, so you don't want to waste your money or time at a college that's not right for you. Augustana doesn't have a good photography program, that's what you will want to do with your life later, so look into a school that DOES have a good photography program. Work hard in college and don't focus so much on your social life because it's not as important as your education. You're smart enough to do anything you want to do for a living so go out there an make the most of your experiences and work hard! You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it!

The most unique quality about my school is the intimacy I feel between myself and my professors. I looked at a few neighboring schools as well as colleges across the country, and the school that stood out to me was Augustana College, located in my hometown, because of its small size and it's academic rigor. With such a small student to teacher ratio, I knew I would be receiving a great amount of attention in my studies, which will help me succeed in achieving my goal to become a music teacher.

The most frustrating thing about my school is, if you're an athlete, feeling like the sport and coaching staff owns you. They expect you to live, breathe, and eat your sport, and you simply can't. If you're not an athlete, the most frustrating thing is feeling like you're back in high school. The population is so small that there is a lot of gossip and judgemental people. Everyone knows each other's business and is very critical about it.
