Austin Community College was not in my plans. Throughout my entire life, I never thought I would be able to attend college due to my financial status and a lot of people putting me down for it. I came from a dead end town, where no one made it out. Long story short, I ended up at ACC because I didn't make it in Huston-Tillotson University. At first, I was devastated, I really wanted that 4 year scholarship. But now, I'm glad HTU didn't choose me. At ACC, there are plenty of resources for students like me and the professors take the time to sit with you and discuss things to improve yourself as a student. The staff is amazing, the food is pretty good, and the social life here is beyond lively. I learned a lot about myself here and without ACC, I don't know where I'd be now. I guess some thing in life do happen for a reason.

Austin Community College is not like any colleges. It doesn't have sport, but it does have club. You can also create you own club. The one thing I like about Austin Community College is, it that there are only about 20 -25 student per class. Austin Community College has a Cafe and the food taste really good.

I think it's a great stepping point for those who wish to transfer to other colleges. It's cheap, affordable, and for the most part easily accessible with campuses all over Austin and even one campus in a different city. If those who do want to transfer to another school and get some degree in the process you can get an Associates but that is not my plan.

Austin Community College is a great school for those who have busy work schedules while attending class. The professors are great, available for any concerns and discussions and willing to help. You have to put in your part of the effort but they are also understanding of life interfering and are willing to help you catch up. I would recommend ACC to those who are not ready for a large campus / university but are ready to begin their first steps towards gettting a higher education degree.

Austin Community College is a school where you go to class and nothing more, really. The teachers are hit or miss, and it is not really a place for friend-making. I appreciate how available teachers are during their office hours, however.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Austin Community College is such a blessing to those students who do not have to money or qualifications to enter directly into a large, expensive university. Attending this 2-year school has been the best decision I have made in my education journey so far, despite my initial reluctance to call my self a "Riverbat". While most students from my high school would smirk at the idea of attending ACC in exchange for a university such as UT or A&M, the fact that the school is a community college does not always mean the quality of the education is reduced in any way. So far, in fact, I have been very impressed with the school's campuses, professors, and help service--which is available nearly every day of the week and for much of the day. As the college currently lacks any on-campus living, ACC has worked very hard to involve the students in the school life in other unique ways. For example, I found a running group that meets daily at the school to run in the mornings, something super attractive to a girl who ran cross-country all throughout high school. I am very excited to learn and become involved with the school this fall semester!

I chose to attend ACC after graduating high school in order to save money and have more time to make an educated decision about which four year college I wanted to attend. I have taken classes at both the Northridge and Highland campuses and both are accessible with wonderful professors. I would recommend reading ratemyprofessor reviews before picking classes, every professor I have picked that way has been accessible and genuinely interested in the class they are teaching. Overall it is a great option to bridge the transition between high school and a 4 year institution.

Austin Community College (ACC) is a awesome college to attend. You don't have to worry about 50+ people in the class, it is small enough to focus and have meetings with teachers one on one. ACC will help me prepare for any university I plan to go to once I earn my associate’s degree. The information I learn from ACC helps me better myself as I continue to live on this earth. Every day I get to experience new things which can help me in the long run.

I love Austin Community College. I have been attending ACC for a while and I love coming back. The teachers are amazing and each campus has someone to help with specific classes. They have tutors that know what they are talking about and show you exactly how to solve the problem. The library is where I usually am at to study and I love how quiet they all are. Not only that but the student services are so wonderful during finals week! I feel safe at most campuses but when there is an incident that happens ACC is quick to have police officers to make the campus feel more safe and I really love that about ACC. Overall ACC is an amazing community college who helps me in every where to transfer to a University.
