Going east campus at Azusa Pacific, you are able to get the small-college vibe; there is a section of four dorms, a parking lot, and one single strip of sidewalk that has food places, the dome, and offices on either side. Pretty much everything worth going to on east is on this strip, called "The Walk." However, through further investigation of east campus, one would discover an entire section behind the dorms for sophomore housing called The Mods; across the street from the mods are a section of different apartment complexes--University Park, Bowles, and Alosta Place (owned by APU but not technically on-campus housing), and down on another street are another set of apartments called University Village. Once traveling a couple blocks to west campus, a bigger-school vibe is more obtained. It has broad steps leading up to the event center, a food court, and two huge academic complexes. Across the parking lot from these buildings is another long building, and down the way from this is the new science building.

Azusa Pacific Univeristy strives to provide good education, and, while in my first year I've found it rather easy, this does not mean I have not been challenged. The best way to learn is to stretch your ideas and test your values, which is something that APU does a good job with. Overall, the people are friendly and open. The APU community puts a large emphasis on engaging in the world and doing our best to have a globally positive impact. The univeristy is laid back as far as people go, but the rules can be a bit ridiculous.

Ariana

Start school with an open mind. Be willing to work hard and adapt. Remember that school is for learning, but also you are starting a brand new social environment and your personal support system will exist of new friends with whom you engage in your new environment. Absorb all that you can. Participate in as much as you can. Take advantage of all the opportunities that are presented to you. Try to be assertive and let your professors know you exist. If you need help, ask for help. If you disagree, voice your opinion.
