Ball State University says they are top in the nation for many things. However, I am an upcoming senior at Ball State and have lived on campus a couple of years and have lived off campus for one year and I absolutely love off campus because the on-campus housing is a joke. The food is terrible as well as overpriced and I would much rather recommend you to get off campus food as well. The classes however at Ball State are very good when it comes to the professor actually taking time out of his day to help you with what you need to succeed. Ball State is a good school if you live close to it or your driving range of about two or three hours, however, if you have to drive across state lines or for several hours then I would recommend somewhere else because I am sure other schools have the same or even better amenities than Ball State and are closer and cheaper.

As a community Ball State is extremely welcoming , with a genuinely caring student body. You will most likely find lifelong friends if you go here, although there will definitely be growing pains. As an academic college it is okay, they definitely have strengths in Telecommunications, Art, Business, and Education but seem to have let other departments fall behind. And even then some of these departments might be hot messes. Food is okay, nothing to write home about. Depending on which dorm you'll get you'll either fall in love or hate it, it really really depends on where you get placed. However the staff and student staff are very welcoming and always there when you need them. Overall, despite my entering the college on a whim I never once felt out of place, always like a second home and most assuredly supported. I definitely recommend it for anyone in Indiana who is thinking about theater, education, TComm, or Business. However beware, the weather here is very wacky.

I think that Ball State is a great school, especially if you are looking for a college that's big but has a small feel. There are plenty of things to do but you can get around really easily and you get accustomed to campus fairly quickly after starting college.

I chose Ball State University as my college of choice because I had taken a trip down there to visit some of my friends who attend the campus, but after taking this visit I realized that this was the school of my dreams. I came home after that weekend and researched my intended major which is telecommunications and realized that there are so many great opportunities for me at Ball State then the campus I was at beforehand. Not only is the campus great for my major, but is a beautiful campus with so much always going on. From sporting events to clubs, to fraternity/sorority events, there is something for everybody and anybody at this campus. Go Cardinals!

Even though this is a predominately white school, Ball State is still very diverse. Though there are not a lot of black fraternity and sororities, there are many PWI fraternities and sororities for others to belong to a sisterhood and brotherhood of there own. Ball State has many majors and on-campus activities that everyone can have something to do.

Ball State University is in the college town of Muncie. It's a good school if you like to travel places on the weekends or just stay to study on the weekends. Yet, there is a lot to do in many organizations and you can find friends easily. Just keep an open mind honestly

I feel Ball State University in a great college to be a part of. The campus is the perfect size because it's not too big or too small so you still see people from your class but can easily avoid them if necessary. The class sizes are also really nice because as you progress they get smaller. As a freshman you will have more large lectures because you need to take a lot of the core classes but you will also still have class sizes of 20-30 which is nice so you can get easy help from the professor. As you progress further into your major your classes will get smaller and will have easy accessibility to peers who are also in your major. My favorite aspect of BSU is the closeness of the students in the classes and the availability of the professors. In every class I have at least one person who I can talk to about class work and get help on which is really nice in more complicated classes. Finally, the professors are really great when it comes to needing to get ahold of them. They always have office hours that are easy to fit with students schedules and they always respond to emails within 24 hours or sooner. Overall I really enjoy all aspects of Ball State and hope anyone else who chooses to go here will feel the same.

Ball State University is overall a nice school. If you live on campus, there can be plenty of activities to get involved in so long as the student actively pursues what they might be interested in. The Village, a small hot spot full of shops and food stops just off campus, is something worth checking out every once in a while. When all the on campus activities have been exhausted, however, there isn't much to do off campus. If the student wants their college experience to be a good one, it's best to participate in any extracurricular activities as they can handle among all their studies,

When I first visited Ball State University, I knew it was where I wanted to go for my undergrad because I felt so at home in the College of Architecture and Planning. While I don't LOVE Ball State after attending for 3.5 years, it will always hold a special place in my heart and I don't regret coming here because I've met wonderful friends and professors. I've learned a lot and sometimes I might not give my program enough credit because I think it is often overlooked on a more global scale. Ball State isn't exactly an amazing school, but I have found wonderful professors who will help you with anything and there are opportunities to be had for those who are willing to find them.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

It is a pretty good university. Great professors, class size, and community. Poor city, housing, and not entirely safe. BSU excels in the arts, especially telecommunication, business, and teaching. But, can be lacking in other departments. Tons of extracurricular options for every student.
