The stereotype of students here is that we're all partiers. However, that is not the case. There are so many different types of people here. The stereotype is definitely inaccurate.

I would say that it depends on what type of stereotype it is. From my experience, somewhat yes and somewhat no. As far as the idea that jocks are kind of "stuck up", I have noticed that no "jocks" talk to me, even though a couple of them used to go to my high school. A couple of them I have waved hello to, and they just ignored me. I wasn't very pleased with that. As far as the idea of partying with the Ball State students, I would say that it is somewhat accurate and somewhat not. In my point of view, it is really up to you whether you want to get involved in it or not. I personally do not go out partying, and it's not hard for me to miss parties every weekend. Not everyone here rages about drinking and partying, it really all just depends on who you hang out with and what they like to do in their spare time. Ultimately, the choice is up to you!

Not at all. The perceptions of Ball State students is largely negative; that we're slackers, that we're only here to party. It's just not the case. Of course there are some students like that, but many of my classmates are very focused, intelligent, and actively involved in a clean campus life.
