What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Hallie

If I could talk to myself when I was a high school senior, I don't know that I would give myself any advice that I didn't already have set in my mind. I always took AP classes in high school and was very driven, and knew what I wanted to do all throughout high school. The only thing I would add would be to do a little better on SAT and ACT tests. I also took career related courses in high school to make sure that I wanted to go into that field and that I would be interested. I would maybe change my college choice only because my school is rather small and wish I would've taken that into consideration before choosing the school.

Martha, high school has been a breeze compared to what college is going to be like. Make every moment count for something, whether it be reading, working through practice problems, or making flash cards. Repetition is key to learning the material. No matter how big or small the assignment, always do your best work because you never know who might look at it. And finally, make time to volunteer. There is nothing more gratifying than donating your time to someone in need.
