Barry is a party school, and priorities events over academics. The dorms are loud and full of parties, it is hard to study. The meal plan is extremely overpriced and the food is not great. The classroom sizes are good, at max there is 30 students per class. Miami is a nice area and has a lot of places to see, but Barry needs to update a lot of things or lower the tuition.
Barry University is an excellent school, the staff are very nice and always available for anything you may need. I feel very safe around the campus. J had a lot of help my first semester and they were always in contact with me. My experience as a freshman is wonderful.
The teachers are nice, there's a nice community of students, but a lesser school can provide that same essentials. It's a good school but you have to watch out for the costs. Please realize that it is 14,000 per semester; if you're not getting a full ride or can afford paying 28,000 a year, don't go.
I feel that Barry University is an extraordinary school in which I could excel in and for everyone to actually know me. I know that the school is medium size, however, I find that perfect for my major since I'm planning to study biology. Also, the best part about their school is their security and that if you need help in a class your professors are actually your personal tutor!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Barry University is 61%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would not change one thing about my senior year of highschool. I worked hard in school and graduated from two National Honor Societies and was the captain of the wrestling team. At Don Bosco Prep I balanced my time between school work and extracaricular activies, and forged friendships that will last a life time.
A private catholic university that strives to develope its' students into strong successful adults.
Most of the students I attend class with are always willing and ready to help or assist anyone with class assignments and projects.
ppl
My classmates are very helpful and give engouragement.
I wish I knew how culturally diverse this University is. I feel ignorant to other students' backgrounds sometimes but try my hardest to learn. I also wish I knew about the additional extra curricular activites Barry has that most schools dont like the Opulent Image Modeling Agency.
I don't know exactly because they are so many building. They have the Health and Science for the pre-med and nursing.Garner that is for education,The Quadrian hall that is for the Art. Andres that is the school for busniss and so many other building . I am not so sure about what it is for sure in my opinion i will say it is for Art and the Medical field.
My school is a very unique school with only 9000 students and theyoffer great courses there. They are one of the best school in the state of Florida. Moreover 80% of all professor obtained a doctorate degree.
Everyone that can aford to go to and that it is really want to continued qith their studies.
The most frustrating thing about Barry University is time management. As an enrolled Barry student, there is always so many interesting activities avaible on campus that can catch your immediate attention. However, it is a must to set a mandatory time period for your studies because it is the student's responsibility to do so. Each student is referred to as an adult and is expected to act in a responsible manner. If one fails to comprehend and tend to his or her mandatory school related tasks, then the individual will pay for the consequences of his or her actions.
Someone who can easily fall into bad habits such as drugs and alcohol. I saw many fellow classmates go down the wrong path because of the pressures in Miami. There tend to be a lot of distractions in the area.
My college friends. Everytime I talk to a friend that dosen't attend my school, i always talk ab out the new friends I've made. Because they are all come from different backgrounds, and i think they are very interesting and unique. I also tend to talk aout my professors, because they are also intersting .
Barry University is one of the best universities in the state of Florida. One of the major benefits is that the school is well accredited. The classes at Barry University are small (about 30 students max per class). The benefit of having small classes is the one on one assistance from the professors which allows you to learn and understand the material even more. There are not much parties that happen on Barry Campus. However, there are a lot of Barry Pride events such as basketball games, comedy shows, movie nights etc. The one thing I would change about Barry are some of the staff members. While there are a lot of helpful faculty on campus, there are a few with somewhat of a bad attitude.
The perception of stereotype at Barry maybe the fraternities and international students. While it is true that these stereotypes are located on campus, there is no separation between the student body.
The most popular student activities on campus are related to the different student groups. For example there is the CSA (Caribbean Student Association) which not only has Caribbean students but also other students from around the world. In this group, students have a family away from home. Meetings are scheduled to discuss any upcoming events on campus. There are also different activities for students residing in the dorms such as battle of the dorms where the different halls compete against one another.
At Barry the classes are very small so the professors tend to know you by name. Participation is very common and is sometime used as a percentage of your final grade. I am currently involve in the School of Business because I am an accounting major. The courses in this department is not difficult once you put time into your studies. The professors are eager to help you.
There are a few dorms at Barry University: Kolasa Hall, Bennicasa Hall, D&D, MD, Sage Hall, Brown Hall & Holly House (to name a few). Most of the dorms consist of two to four persons per room. Kolasa allows two persons per room with two closests and one private bathroom. In Halls such as D&D hall, there are community bathrooms. However, single rooms are made available in Kolasa, Bennicasa and Holly House.
The sports scene is very much alive. Students are very dedicated to the sports teams. The games are always swarming with crazed fans who have made it routine to go to every game possible just to root for their home team and the players they're connected to through friendship.
Initially, what attracted me to this school was the big scholarship that they offered me. At first, it might seem a bit superficial - considering a university for a scholarship, I mean. But it was quite a scholarship I was offered, and, being from a very low-income neighborhood, I set about to finding out more about Barry. After a couple of visits and talks with professors, I came to the conclusion that this school was the school for me: I saw the caliber of the professors that came my way. One of my literature professors has five degrees; another professor, one of economics, holds more than ten titles - you bet they they can teach, too! The school may not look so pretty on the outside, but inside the walls and classrooms of Barry lies the university tradition of excellent scholarship to students.
All of the professors are very interactive and always willing to help the students so we can all succeed.
