Baylor University is a school founded in Christian faith, one that fosters a kind atmosphere and a general love among people. With that being said, if you are not Christian and attend Baylor you will feel out of place to some degree. Baylor offers many dining halls which provide a multitude of foods that are convenient and rather diverse. The teachers are rather nice and in general will work with your schedule as need be. The student body is lackluster in terms of school spirit in terms of sporting events, and the “party” scene is not very promienent. All in all the education is great and it’s a good experience all in all at Baylor University.

When I first toured Baylor, I was unsure whether it was the right fit for me. As I walked around though, it was the people and the atmosphere that changed everything for me. At Baylor everyone (for the most part) is super friendly and inclusive- whether you're rushing to class or grabbing coffee at Common Grounds- you're bound to run into someone you know, or to find yourself in a conversation with someone new. Another great aspect of Baylor is all of the campus-wide traditions; freshman follies (a huge food fight on Fountain mall), thanksgiving dinner on campus, Christmas on 5th, Dia Del Oso (a day where all students get the day off from classes- it's amazing.) The only minor drawback of Baylor would be that there aren't many options for things to do on the weekends. I love Waco- but when I lived there fun places/activities were limited- but it's only a pretty short drive to Dallas or Austin. Then there's Cameron Park- one of the most amazing places in Waco- with running and mountain biking trails, fishing, and countless overlook points you could easily spend the entire day there just exploring. I definitely did on numerous occasions. Overall there are positives and negatives about every college- but there's always been something special about Baylor in my opinion- the community felt like a second family. If you're interested I HIGHLY recommend it.

The school not only focuses on sports but also and more importantly, academics. They make the students work hard for what they want. The school offers a lot of activities outside the classroom. This helps give the mind a rest after studying. Almost everything you need to live is on campus or near by. This makes it easier to live, which makes it easier to focus on why I am in school in the first place.

Baylor University is a great university and I could not imagine myself attending anywhere else. Baylor has helped me grow a lot academically, spiritually, and emotionally since I left home, and I am very thankful for that. I definitely appreciated how available the professors are and how willing they are to sit down with you and help you with any problems you are having with their curriculum. I could not imagine a better place to attend!

I think it is a great university and am hoping to become a student. I have visited and think it is a beautiful campus with great classes to take. Also has a very good soccer program for both female and male. They aspire the students to be better then they think they are themselves.

The professors are extremely nice and they really make an effort to help all of their students. It is really easy to get connected on campus, and there are a lot of different options for what to get involved in. Classmates are all very friendly and helpful too.

Baylor, to me, is a place that I can call my home. I have never been on a campus that makes me feel like such a vital part of the community. I enjoy taking part in the big games (marching band), as well as receiving a great education that will set me up for my future in research.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

The academics are honestly top notch. I love all of my professors and they do their best to really get to know their students. The class sizes are nice and small, so it really is more conducive to learning. The food isn't the best, and there have been some scandals concerning athletes. I find that Baylor is charging too much for things like the meal plans, mandated classes, and extra fees. While the academics of this college are really amazing and all they're cracked up to be, the college itself and how it's run could be better and more student focused. The other students on campus are friendly and always willing to lend a hand. The student culture is overall fairly respectful and kind.

I’ve wanted to go to Baylor since I was eight years old and googled “best premed” schools in Texas and the United States. Here we are ten years later and I will be attending Baylor in the fall of 2018. Baylor has always been home, every time I visit and I’m excited for what’s to come.
