Christian, some super weird and others cooler than*#@*

Aaron

Seems like at least half went to private school in high school. Lots of Texas kids but also lots of out-of-staters. Many come from wealthy backgrounds and is a mostly white school. Girls wear long t-shirts and everyone wears chacos. Most students conservative.

Students at Baylor are enthusiastic and eager to learn new subject material.

Shabria

My classmates where very supportive and friendly from the very beginning of our undergraduate careers!

Britain

Good students, interesting people.

Taylor

My classmates are close and candid. Since the classrooms at Baylor are so small, it's easy to quickly get to know one another, and become comfortable, if the type of class allows it. The business school is very interested in group projects and teamwork, so I've found that it's easy to get to know your classmates and, from my experience, it has been a very enjoyable experience.

David

Classmates at Baylor are friendly, driven, and relatable not only inside the classroom but outside of the classroom as well.

Baylor as a university is very accepting of all people. Although it is a Baptist university, they do not discriminate religiously, racially, or in any other manner. I have seen just about all types of students around Baylor and meet many different types of people, and most of them seem very happy to be at Baylor. I do not think that many people would feel out of place. The students who attend Baylor typically come from fairly wealthy families, but that is not always the case. Baylor gives out a lot of scholarship money each year which helps many students attend. Politically, most students fall more towards the right than the left, but there are both represented. In addition, the majority of students are very driven which bodes well for their futures and can even rub off on those who don't have the same drive.

Melinda

Baylor has a pretty broad range of students. Most students are Baptists, but other denominations and even atheists and agnostics are represented.

Amber

My classmates are always busy; they are almost always studying, or else they make plans with friends to fill their hours.

Claire

What kind of students go to Baylor? Well we've definitely got some Christians but we've also got some atheists (which makes for some very interesting debates in religion class) There are many different religious and racial backgrounds. There are also lesbians and gays however Baylor would like to pretend that there are not. I call it Baylor in denial and if you come to Baylor you might find a few other things "not at Baylor"...such as hazing in fraternities. Are Baylor students rich? Honestly...yes a lot of Baylor students have money. If you look at the price of tuition you will see why. However, not all Baylor students are wealthy; there are a lot of scholarships, financial aid, and other opportunities to come to school here. Unfortunately, there are also students who have to transfer out after one year when they can't afford it anymore. TIp: When budgeting account for books they are expensive and food, you will probably have to eat. What do most students wear to class? Well I am not gonna lie...if you're a girl (especially if your in a sorority) you better have some tights, a few over sized t shirts, and some rain boots. Also necessary is anything north face, ugg boots, nike shorts, and sperrys. Although this may feel like the only outfit you see at our school, its actually not. Mainly you notice it because most of them look ridiculous and most of them look exactly the same. Don't get me wrong I am not "hating" on sorority girls and frat guys...I am actually a sorority girl too, I just happen to think ugg boots are UGGly. I am also pretty sure these style trends run rampant at other colleges as well. If you decide on Baylor and love UGG boots; congratulations! If not look at it as a great opportunity to flaunt your own awesome style...that is if you have more time than just enough to brush your teeth and grab you're books in the morning after a late night of studying/partying (whatever you're into).

As a Christian University, I would say that most students would probably at least describe themselves as Christian. There is a relatively small LGBT community, but the University does not officially endorse specific LGBT groups, as it conflicts with their Baptist founding. In my experience, students across all disciplines interact, though people with similar background obviously attract. It would probably also be safe to say that the average Baylor student comes from an above-average family income, as it is a relatively expensive private school - though scholarships can greatly help there.

Britain

The students here are all about Christianity. (Girls group, guys group, life group, church functions, bombarding facebook Bible quotes [condemning, judgmental, or self investing], "preyer and worship" facebook invites, coffee talks, holiday sermons, sidewalk preaching, School-church functions). If you are not christian or conservative you will drown here. As for the rich kid stereotype... It is a stereotype for a reason. You will see plenty of beats headphones, crazy nice cars, and fashion statements around campus. Free thinkers are scarce and those who don't fit the christian mold are outcast. You better either have a strong head or a bible in hand. Also "Ring-by-Spring" is a real thing. Girls come here to find a husband. It is not abnormal to get married while still attending school.

Kelsey

My Baylor Classmates are focused, driven, and excited to learn all they can about the wonderful things God has created for them.

Ashley

As a member of the honors college and the BIC program, my fellow classmates are, for the most part, very serious and committed students.

CASEY

My classmates are excited and focused.

Ashley

As I am in the honors college and the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core, most of my classmates are very serious students. This campus is the third most ethnically diverse campus in Texas so although a lot of the kids are white, middle class, we also have a significant number of other groups. As a Christian college, kids are pretty well grounded.

Sarah

The students at Baylor are friendly and caring because we are all one big family, connected to each other through our successes and failures through that Good Old Baylor Line.

Jessica

So understanding and nice, if you miss anything in class or are having trouble with something, everyone is very friendly and willing to help you.

My classmates are very diverse people, however with that in mind, each of us are respectful of the other's ideas and beliefs.

Eric

Classmates are from very rich backgrounds and hold to morals of that socioeconomic background, like stereotyping and forming cliques.

Nadia

Classmates are usually very friendly and extremely smart.

Patrick

There is a strong sence of community and a kind of uncommon courtesy among most of the students, though the backgrounds of each may vary.

Lauren

Fellow adventurers on the journey of learning, traveling together and supporting each other to discover new things about the world and ourselves.

Amaka

Hardworking people who know what they want and go after it.

Jessica

My classmates have become some of my greatest friends. They are always helpful and want me to succeed in class as much as they want themselves to. They make me strive to be a better student.

Ellen

Variety of students all striving for a better future.

Patrick

Baylor's student body is pretty diverse as you will find at other colleges; pre-dominantly White, hovering around 50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}, followed by black and asian, then hispanic and others. I have actually been surprised how many people of Indian and Middle Eastern dissent are here. The socio-economic range is also pretty consistent with other universities, any typical bell curve graph for a population matches that here at Baylor. The attitude of students here at Baylor is certainly more professional than at other universities; it's very common to find people dressed in ties going to class, but most people tend to wear whatever: basketball shorts, cargo shorts, polos, t-shirts, etc.

Chelsea

My classmates are extremely helpful and supportive, however there is a strong sense of competition among all classmates.

Sierra

Kind, intelligent, outgoing people whom have deep desires to learn and enrich their lives.

Michelle
