The thing that I would like to change about Baylor is the Greek Life, if you could say there is one. At Baylor, being a private university they have decided that all Fraternities and Sororities are all equal and have a very close eye on them, so that they do not prefrom any dishonorable actions (drinking, etc...) at least when a few of the brothers or sisters are together. One of the best thing about Baylor is the campus life and the Baylor traditions/experience. Baylor is the perfect size. The classes are small, some have more. There enought student so that everybody doesnt know your business, but small enough that you would see each other on campus walking to class. When I tell people that I attend Baylor they Congratulate me and tell me that it must be nice attending such a prestigious university. That I could do a lot with a degree from Baylor University. I wouldnt say that Waco is a "college town." Waco has a total of three institutions of higher education (Baylor, McLennan Community College, and Texas State Technical College). It does how ever has some aspects of a "college town." The current administration at Baylor is a very active administration. It takes the feedback from students and faculty so they can make Baylor a better place for leaning for both parties. They take in consideration the concerns and questions of students and faculty and the Baylor community. Baylor University has a excepitonal program for school pride. The student show thier school pride constantly and the Waco community and surronding communities show thier support for thier Baylor Bears! Sic 'em! There is not anything that is out of the oridanary, that every other colleges dont have. The one of many experiences that I will always remember is "Welcome Week." This is the week that current students help incoming students move into the dorms, show them around campus, show them the ropes that they have lerned at Baylor, and just tell them about each other in general. I also will remember the day of the "Pudding War"! When Alpha Delta Pi had the war which the sisters had to bring some friends and threw pudding at each other and pudding slip and slides and water ballons The most frequent complaint among students is PARKING! Of course doesnt ever college have this. The other most frequent complaint is the attendance policy. What absence are excused and which one are.

The biggest recent controversy involved Dr. Pepper, Baylor`s official soft drinks. Some students started a rumor that coke was going to replace Dr. Pepper and that got all the Baylor DP fans rowled up. This is one indicator of school pride, which Baylor has much of. Also, many professors were denied tenure this year and that caused a little upstir.

Baylor is a great school. It has a great campus with a ton of active groups and activities. It requires freshmen to live on campus, which is an awesome experience. Now it's trying to encourage upperclassmen to live on campus as well. In this regard, new apartment-style living is available as well as a large amount of new "Living-Learning Centers" which allow students to live with others who share their passions.

Baylor is a medium sized private school with an emphasis on professor-student relations. It has a very strong overriding christian attitude that many times supersedes academic curriculums. It currently has a high rating, and many great academic departments, but professors are steadily becoming discontent with the administration, and Baylor itself said it will sacrifice academics for Christianity. However, it still maintains a good reputation. I've had a lot of great professor experiences. They really will get to know you if you want to. The administration is run informally by reagents and other donators, who want to keep Baylor Baptist. This is causing a lot of problems with cirriculums, and there have been several social incidents where gays were openly discriminated against, despite protests of many students. Also, in the last tenure review, 40{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of applicants were denied. I fear these decisions will come to haunt Baylor in the future. If it does not conform to what is now seen as standard national practices in respect to progressive issues AND acadmeics, then Baylor's rating and reputation will start to decrease.

Baylor is amazing. I love Baylor. There isn't much to Waco, but it's getting better. Baylor has some crazy school spirit. Common Grounds, the coffee shop on campus is where the cool people hang out. There is not nearly enough parking. Most people think I'm stuck up because I go to Baylor, but most people here aren't.

I've always been told that going to college was going to be an eye-opening experience, but I never really imagined it being this way. Baylor has been an amazing experience for me, mainly due to the people. It really doesn't matter if you're talking to a student or to a member of the faculty, everyone is friendly, respectful, and, most shockingly, honest.

The best thing about Baylor is that, while trying to become a research university, the faculty refuses to 1) give up on educating undergraduates 2) give up on Baylor's Christian heritage.

At Baylor, you have to find your niche, but once you do everything is fine. Getting involved in extracurricular activies definately helps your social life. Waco is not exactly a college town, but it does come with all the basic stores and some. Most people only live their freshman year on campus, and then move to one of the surrounding apartment complexs. Baylor is expensive and a lot of the stuff Baylor provides is therefore also expensive. The important thing about Baylor is even though some things you might not like, there are double the things you will like. The administration in my mind is not the best and could do a lot better of a job, but my professors are great and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

good parties. pretty campus. good academics. too bad we suck at sports.

They aren't embarrassed about their religious views, Baylor is very bold about being a Christian university, it's awesome.

The school is great. At first I was a little concerned about my choice because I never visited and I had never been to Texas until I matriculated at Baylor. The campus is gorgeous, everyone is caring and kind, and the teachers are around and are excellent resources for scholarship recommendations or anything else. Also, we have so many amazing and diverse clubs and shows and talents. There is always something to do on campus. It is important to find your niche on campus though because Waco itself is quite awful. Everyone goes home over the weekends and campus is deserted. But, if you personally branch out then you will be so much happier with your experience here. In addition, I would recommend bringing a car. Parking is limited, you have to buy a student pass, and there is a shuttle service, but I am always having to bum rides off of my friends.

The best thing about Baylor is that I feel at home here. I love the campus-it is so beautiful, like you are walking around in a big park. The school gives you the feel of a big campus, with the intimacy and relational atmosphere of a smaller school. You really get to meet a lot of amazing people here and I love it! I would change the apathy of the students. I really feel that as a Christian school, it would be nice to outreach into our community more, get active, aware, and not just stay in the "Baylor bubble." Honoring God by serving him faithfully as a student, but also as a college student that has a lot of time on our hands to make a difference in the lives of our fellow students, the people in Waco, state or even nationwide. Waco is a dinky city, but it grows on you and you learn to love it and its people-if you choose to get out of campus. There's not a lot to do, but I'm not much of a guy to party or "have a night on the town", but there's plenty of stuff for me to do on campus with extracurriculars, ministries, activism, homework..., etc.

Baylor is the perfect place if you are looking for something right in the middle. The campus is beautiful and the off campus apartments and houses are really close to campus and each other. It's a great community. The school pride is amazing. Everyone really gets into the spirit. Sic'Em Bears!

the first 2 years here religion and baylor-ism is shoved down your throat. there is sooo much importance placed upon being part of the 'Baylor Family'. it's very expensive too. everyone here is on scholarship though so most of use are hurting for money. homecoming is really cool. waco is a complete college town. nothing to do other than baylor and MCC. i don't agree with Baylor's money management. the theatre and the art departments have to share a crammed, old, out of date building and our funds seem to be cut every year, yet they throw money to the LOSING football team to build them ANOTHER practice field so that they don't have to drive the 5 minutes to their current ones. poor babies..... :P it's a very pretty school though. and has a good name.

A disappointing thing about Baylor is where it is located... (Waco, tx) and that's not even that bad if you are a person who likes to reach out to the community which Baylor does a lot of. Most people go home on the weekends The things students complain about most is parking, tuition, and visitation hours (hours when guys and girls can be in one another's dorms) Baylor is very traditional sometimes it feels like a cult but you learn to love it, "sic' em" There really is just a great community feeling at Baylor if you are plugged in

Baylor is apparently the oldest University in the state of Texas, and there's a great deal of pride and tradition that comes from that--but they continue to strive to be one of the top learning institutions while maintaining a Christian mindset. That may not be for some people--if it were a huge issue, they wouldn't apply to go to Baylor. Still, Baylor isn't completely filled with the "typical Christian"--and if you go to Baylor and take your school seriously, you'll get a great education regardless. If you're looking for a party school where you can get a degree and blow off your education, Baylor would probably be a stupid choice... seeing as it costs so much.

Baylor is a bubble within the city of Waco, Texas. The weather is great, but humid. Within this bubble everyone LOVES Baylor. It is very much a haves versus have-nots. If you cross interstate 35 you find the poverty stricken city of Waco. Some Baylor students do outreach ministires to this part, but often I have found that they focus so much on abroad missions they cannot see who their neighbors are. For me Baylor is the perfect sized university. It is small enought that I can compete in competitive sports but it is large enough that our football team is in the Big XII. When you look at Baylor as a potential school look closely at how it's specific schools like the school of Business or School of Music are, because some are definately better rated than others. Baylor is very much a Christian university. It does have it's basis in the Baptist religion, but it is safe to stick with just "christian." Within this you will find quite a few who judge others just as God tells us not to. But because they are bigger and better Christians than you they think they have the right. Just a warning, if you show up to the dining halls on Sunday morning and aren't wearing church attire "SHUN THE NON-BELIEVER" will be the typical response. The most frequent complaints I hear among all students are the extreme difficulty of the religon classes (two are required to graduate) and the complete and totally pointless two sememsters of chapel we must attend for no credit. I personally find the religon classes worthwhile, but very difficult. Chapel is just another of those traditions that the old farts who founded Baylor thought was a good idea and now it will never be changed; so deal with it.

Baylor is overall a great school. It is just the right size and relatively small compared to the big state schools. Too much funding goes towards the athletic programs. The students and faculty are very friendly, and has a great atmosphere overall.

I think the best thing about Baylor is that the school has so many different student organizations and ways for students to be involved on campus from Sororites and fraternities to student counsel and religious organizations. One thing that I would change would be a better guide to life after college as well as more help picking out majors and minors. I think the size of Baylor is a good size and is constantly growing. They think that my educational choice was a great one and has and will continue to take me places in this world I spent time in my sorority room, in the library and at the end of my carrer working on my major and with tutors. I think Waco is a college town. I think Baylor's administration has changed dramatically since I have been a student. I think change is good and it seems like the current administration is taking Baylor where they see it needs to be as the time changes. I am not sure what the biggest recent controversy is but, I know when I was a student the school was in the progress of getting a new president and remember that being a big deal. I believe that Baylor does have school pride. I do not think that there is anything unusual about Baylor. One experience that I remember about Baylor is being in a sorority and meeting great new people and the bonds I share with those people today. The most frequent student complaints were about Baylor never cancelling classes because of weather.
