Bellarmine University Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Meghan

This school is like high school pretty much. It's very cliquey and judgmental.

Ronald

The school is small so you will everyone by name, sometimes it is frustrating that everyone knows your business.

Hali

The parking. Freshman have to park in 'freshman parking' which is all the way across campus from the residence halls. Anytime you want to go somewhere, you have to prepared for the 1/2 mile walk to you car, then the 1/2 mile walk back to the residence halls. It's just frustrating whenever you have to be somewhere, but it takes you ten minutes to get to your car.

Jacob

The most frustrating thing about Bellarmine is that they aren't very consistant with their own rules. An example would be, if you had a friend who was a freshman and, after completing one semestar, asked for a sophmore parking permit, might receive one. Then when you find out about it and go to ask for one, a different person will be working the desk where you receive it, and say that you can't. Even after dicussing with them how your friend got one, they will say that you may not have one.

Alexandra

The most frustrating, but also the thing I love most, is the demanding academic level that Bellarmine expects of their students. This is one of the reasons that I chose Bellarmine; I knew Bellarmine would offer me an outstanding, but challenging education that I thought would prepare me best for my future. Small sized classes with maximum attention on students which forces each student to put forth their best effort, and a very intense work load both are extremely frustrating, because it is not what I was used too, but I know that it will pay off in the future.

Amanda

Because it's a smaller campus and class sizes, classes can fill up pretty fast and you might not get the class you want if you register at a later time. However, professors are willing to work with the students in getting them the classes they need and making their schedules as pleasant as possible.

Bridgett

Sometimes the worklead at my school can be a little more than I can handle.

Katherine

The school is currrently in transition from a predominantly commuter campus to a predominantly residential campus. Unfortunately, even those who do live on campus often leave on weekends to go to other college campuses or to their homes because there are virtually no activities on weekends hosted on-campus. For out-of-state residents, this means that no one is around on weekends and if you don't have a car, there is nothing for you to do.

Jessica

Bellarmine University is a wonderful school. There is honestly nothing too frustrating about the school as a whole. My only issues are financial. I live 45 minutes away and I have to pay for my own college education. Bellarmine is a great school and I want to continue to go there but driving 45 minutes up and back everyday is in a sense rather frustrating, and the school is rather expensive. Scholarships are the only way I can continue to attend Bellarmine University and that is also frustrating.

Ashley

It cost so much to go to Bellarmine, yet it seems like they don't have a lot for the students but the President is very wealthy.

Erin

The most frustrating thing about Bellarmine is that we do not have a more diverse student population. Many minority students who choose to study in Louisville go to the University of Louisville instead. We are steadily growing in our minority and international student numbers but it still is frustrating that we can not attract more.

Liz

Even though they do give out scholarships and pretty big ones at that sometimes it just isn't enough.
