Belmont Abbey College Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I knew before I came to Belmont Abbey College was that the students that attend the Abbey are not very catholic and most students that attend the college are because of sport recruiting.

It wasn't until after I arrived on campus that I learned most of the students and administrators here were not Catholic, even though Belmont Abbey College is a Catholic institution. Though I never feel left out, I feel that the school is missing the point of being a Catholic institution. Granted, religion is a way the school sees diversity. However, I feel that the small percentage of Catholic students shows doubt, or a lack of strength in the school's Catholic tradition. It feels strange, attending an officially Catholic school, and not having that kind of social atmosphere.
