I honestly can't think of anything.
The worst thing about my school is the lack of racial diversity. There is no doubt in my mind, that every year the admissions office tries to create a racially diverse class of freshmen. However, it doesn't change the fact that I can go into a class, as a black female, and be the only person of color.
Beloit College, like many facilities of higher education, has a history sodden in alcohol. It is not the presence or even the quantity of alcohol that is bad. It is the lack substance-free activities that are available, both on week nights and on weekends. This is a bad thing because it can create social misfits. The lack of substance free options lures in students, particularly freshmen, who are eager to make friends. Many of these students probably came to school indifferent to alcohol, wishing only for acceptance. It is regrettable that the easiest course to friendship is through alcohol.
The worst thing about Beloit College is its location. The city of Beloit is a small town with practically nothing to do. Madison, Chicago and Milwaukee are a few hours drive away, but Beloit itself resembles a town deprived of the hustle and bustle of your typical city. The good news is however is that there is always something on campus to do, a plethora of activities for everyone.
The social setting starts to get old as you become an upper classman. People are super snobby about how artistic and different they are
The winter, which starts early and ends late. Hard to be outside but there are plenty of spaces to chill indoors. Also, the field house is old and outdated as it used to be an airplane hanger.
The administration does not care about us. They are making serious changes to school policies and schedules without consulting students. They also ignore members of the faculty.
The alcohol policy. I don't like that you can drink at age 18 on campus even though the law is 21.
The campus is incredibly liberal, to the point where even being somewhat conservative can cause people to be caustic (mainly fiscal conservatism) .
People here are pretty pretencious. I don't like a lot of those kinds of people.
