Benedictine is my home. So cliche I know, but it is truly such an amazing college. I love my majors (sociology and Spanish), my professors, my friends, all the opportunities available to me. That being said, it is not for everyone. The Catholic culture is very present and influential, which I personally like since I am Catholic, but I would imagine it to be hard for someone who is not Catholic. Everyone is definitely respectful towards each other, regardless of religion, race, and whatever else. A campus visit is a must to make sure you have a good vibe from the place because if you don't, it is not worth it to attend.

I have loved my time at BC and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a great catholic liberal arts college. They take their four pillars of Benedictine, Residential, Liberal Arts, Catholic. It is a great place to live and learn. Students are kind and they help one another become the best people they can be.

This is much more than a college. Benedictine is a genuine family. Being a Raven means receiving an education crafted around the four pillars that serve as the bedrock for our school: Residential, Liberal Arts, Catholic, and Benedictine. We are a genuine community of faith and scholarship and I have never felt more at home with my peers. At Benedictine, you grow both academically and personally and are given the chance to do incredible things. No matter the department, the professors genuinely care about you and how you’re performing in every class. I’ve got my best friends here now and I wouldn’t trade Benedictine for the world.

BC is overall a very solid school. They place a high importance on following out their mission and values, and really want their students to succeed in all aspects of their lives, not just academically. They want their students to leave as leaders, entrepreneurs, volunteers; they encourage you to find something you're passionate about and provide opportunities for you to follow that passion.

I really like the small campus feel. You really get to know the professors and fellow students. In my opinion, I'd rather go to a small Catholic school than a state school because I feel like I'm getting a more personalized education. The campus has some problems, but they are doing great renovations to the science building that will be completely done in 2018. If you are thinking about going to a small college, I would recommend Benedictine.

The academics here are what really shine. Students are expected to take ownership of their learning. The professors are great, truly care about students personally, are passionate and knowledgeable about their subjects, and are versatile in the their application. Coursework is challenging, but not impossible or unreasonable. The rest of the package I could take or leave, for the most part. The food's terrible, the dorms might collapse on you, but your mind will have every opportunity to grow, and that's the whole point anyway.

Benedictine College is well known for its community atmosphere. Everywhere you look there are awesome people that care for you and your well-being. As with any college, there are downsides to it. At Benedictine, you are restricted to the College and the town. The only way to go elsewhere is drive 30 minutes away. Yet, if you enjoy making life-long friends and growing in your Catholic Faith then Benedictine is the way to go!

This is a wonderful school - the professors care, students are super friendly, and BC is a great experience overall! The residence staffs rock, and make sure that there are plenty of activities going on that the freshmen can be involved in. There are opportunities to receive the sacraments every day, and it's easy to grow in your faith. I, a woman, always feel safe walking around campus.

This college has its issues as any do... The food isn't that great, residence life can be a pain to work with, and because it's privately funded, tuition is insane and keeps rising. It's a Catholic college, and does a better job at being Catholic than a lot of them, but still fails to serve the more traditional community, stewing in copious amounts of "praise and worship" and the charismatic culture. Extremely unfortunate. However, overall, this college is fantastic. Academic wise, the work load is challenging, but balanced enough that double majoring (as I am doing) is doable. The professors really care and are there to help and talk to students. Because of small class sizes, they can really address individual students' needs. The President has put in a lot of work and though he has his own faults too, students can really tell that he cares as well. He is frequently out and about meeting and talking to students and commits faces and personal details to memory. Having the monks on campus is also amazing. They are all incredibly friendly and really make Catholic culture come alive. Atchison is a small town, and occasionally it feels like there's not much to do, but if one is creative enough, there's ALWAYS something to do. The setting encourages students to go out and make things happen instead of sit around and be entertained. Additionally, the bluffs of the Missouri river are beautiful. A great school with dedicated professors and a friendly culture. It's a bit "cut off" from the chaos unlike other large colleges, and there are no frats or sororities, but students find solidarity with each other in much safer, kind ways.

I knew when I first walked on campus that this was the place for me. No other school I had visited felt like it was where I belonged. I really love BC because of the small class sizes, availability of the professors, and community. The school also does a fantastic job offering students opportunities to grow in their faith. I am enjoying my time here at Benedictine College.
