What is unique about this school is it's work program and it's small size. The work program allows students to work in the school for minimum wage, the entire profit of which goes towards tuition. Students may also work extra shifts in food services or campus maintenance for an actual pay check. The small size also makes it unique, because at this school, students receive more help than they might at a larger university.

Blackburn University is a small college, with around 500 students. Everyone who lives on campus works on campus and everything is run by the students. A partial tuition deferral is given for working at the college.
