Great whether you're just starting out or while you're returning to further your education this is a place to lay some major ground work!
The teachers are very attentive and go above and beyond to be accessible to all. Also, the small class sizes make a more efficient learning environment. Here you aren't just a unknown face the teachers are involved and know who you are. In addition, the food services department really do a great job!
It's a great learning experience, it's very hands on and also the people there are likable. The instructors are very easy going and make it easy to learn new things every day . The lab is awesome we get to use a lot of industry materials to get us ready for the real world.

Looking back to my senior year of High School, Some advice i would have given myself would be to focus more and take time to do assignments thouroughly. Take things more seriously cause after high school you are kind of on your own, and you will have to make the decision rather you will want to be succesful or fail. I would also have said that sometimes in order to achieve things you might have to let go some things as well, such as friends and other things that are distracting you from getting ahead.
Being able to go to college and not have to take out additional loans helped in my decision to go to Blackhawk.
Overall, Blackhawk Technical College is a good place for students wanting to try their hand at I.T. classes.
Someone who doesn't like to study
While Blackhawk Technical College has a very diverse student body; the course of study I am currently enrolled in, Automated Systems (formerly Electromechanical Technologies), consists of primarily 30 to 40 year olds, a direct result of the closing of factories in the area. (General Motors & its vendors)
Blackhawk Technical College has a wide range of careers to study, but the most prominent areas of study are: Business Management, careers in the Health Service Industry, and a variety of educational programs dealing with Manufacturing and Agricultural applications. No matter what degree you choose to pursue at Blackhawk Tech, the institution has taken great strides to set the curriculum so that the credits are transferable to any of the State of Wisconsin's Universities, in the event you wish to further your education.
Blackhawk Technical College's hands on approach really was a deciding factor for me. I am a visual learner, and an education from an expert in your field of study may give an individual an edge in todays workforce. The classroom sizes also tend to be smaller than a large college, which allows the instructors get to individuals on a more personal level.
I think the worst thing is that it is so far away from everything, so if I have time in between classes, I have to stay there instead of being able to go somewhere else.
The kind of person that should go to this school is the kind of person who knows what they want to do with their life and want to effectively get it done.
I brag about how cheap my tuition payments are compared to my friends' costs.
The most frustrating thing about my school , is that we have a heavy load of homework to do outside of the class room.
