Unfortunatly, Bloomsburg University is known across the country as the number two school with the most alcohol related arrests. Most of these arrests come from the annual Spring Block Party. This is a day when the townspeople and people of the surrounding areas, including myself, avoid Bloomsburg at all costs; if you do not have a reason to go into town on Block Party Saturday then you do not. Although this is not a University event the University gets a bad reputation from it, and it effects the descisions of future students on whether or not to attend Bloomsburg University.
In my opinion, the worst thing about Bloomsburg is the food. At first it doesn't seem too bad but then you just get tired of it after a while. I'm sure this is true for just about every university though.
That some of my classes are lectures. They are more challenging than the regular/normal classes are require a lot of time and effort to be put into the ONE class.
I honestly prefer city life and bloomsburg is not located in the city.
The worst thing about Bloomsburg University would have to be the selection of food provided in the cafeteria. Many times the food is either in very poor quality or it is the basically the same food served the day before. Though there are some days where the food at Bloomburg University does taste quite good.
The worst thing about this school is the lack of off campus entertainment. I understand that I attended school in a small town, but I feel that the Bloomsburg community can do more to modernize its town. Although, I do enjoy the view of the town at night. Although, I am not a permanent resident in Bloomsburg, I attend town hall meeting to stay involved in the community. Since, attending these meetings I have learned that the town of Bloomsburg is working on getting developers to create a more inspiring environment.
For the most part, I truely enjoy Bloomsburg University; however I can think of one thing that I found very irritating. The worst thing about my school is the lack of maintenance during the winter. The roads are never plowed and the sidewalks are never shoveled. Walking around campus becomes a hazard when there is a snow on the ground.
Our school is not united in school spirit as much as I would like. While most students have pride in their choice to come here, we don't mesh and come together as a student body as much as I would like.
The worst thing about my school is that the campus is a little bit hilly and when it is icy or wet it can be very slippery in some spots.
I would consider underage drinking being the worst thing about my school . By what I've seen since I been attending college a lot of fratunities being busted by the town police. A lot of students excessively drinking and being underage, in a Frat house is not a safe choice to make. Also because it may impact on your college carrer.
I would say that the worst thing about my school is that it is in the middle of nowhere. Although there are many campus activies, parties, and fellowships to attend on campus, they get old after awhile. There is nothing but trees, mountains, and wildlife off campus. Being a freshman, I personally think that the freshman college experience would be better if there was a lot to do not just on campus but off campus also.
The parking when you are a commuter that has just started school because it is a good distance from class and the sad part is there are many other closer parking spots open in the area you are not aloud to park in.
The students. Why? Because I have one goal when it comes to college-to do my best. It frustrates me to see students goofing off, bad-mouthing professors, and generally not caring about their education, even though someone is paying for it.
I think the worst thing about Bloomsburg University is the abundance of students who drink and the lack of morals.
I feel that the residence halls and apartments should be safer to live in. There are issues with the electrical wiring and tailgating inside the buildings. The wiring issue inhibits students from using certain electrical appliances that would be normal to use in other schools, such as, a microwave. There have also been a significant amount of deaths caused by fire on and off campus. Tailgating has allowed strangers to enter the building and vandalize the property although no students were hurt it is still an issue that compromises our safety.
The worst thing about college would be the dorm. Living in a building with 500 students was a problem, and putting four girls in one room was nothing but drama. Things got stolen and peoples' reputation got ruined. A situation caused by one individual affected the whole building. And having other students enforce the rules for students to follow did not seem all that logical. Living like this; I was glad that there was a library where I could get my school work done. Without it I probably would have failed my first year in college.
The worst thing about my school is probably some of the people there. I feel like alot of the kids there shouldnt be in college. Most of them are just junkies and drink all the time and arn't even that smart. Most of them just sit around and dont really study and are content with 2.0's rather then higher grades.
It's a party school. Though the academics are pretty strong, it brings in a lot of trash.
its in bloomsburg
The police both on and off campus. They are so rude and do not concern themselves with helping the students or catching the rapists and people causing trouble in town. No they are only concerned with ticketing students, falsly accusing students of things, and busting them for drinking. Don't worry about protecting the students, just meet your quota of tickets and arrests. I have heard horror stories and even seen some racism. I wish there were something I could do about it so the students are treated fairly by them.
Not all the professors speak good english and it makes it hard to learn .
