The most accurate thing I've heard would be that college is "just a bunch of kids sitting on bunk beds trying to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives" (PLL, S5 E16). Don't expect to keep the major you started with. Take only your gen eds because chances are you're going to find a new career path while you're there. Take advantage of Community College! There is nothing wrong with spending thousands of dollars less for the same education.
Before coming to this school, I wish I had known more about what community colleges were like. I feel like they always have a lower class stereotype attached them, but after enrolling and taking classes at BCTC, I realize it's not really like that. I have many classmates who just want to save money.
I wish I had known how grown up it was going to be. I really feel like an adult when I step foot into BCTC. The professors do not treat us like children like they did in high school. Also, Its your choice if you want to pass or not. The professors do not care if you pass or fail, they still take your money.
How much a community college is like High school, with small class sizes and a lot of one on one time with teachers it can help with the transition but it can also hurt when you to go a 4 year college with huge class sizes. Its a larger version of high school but all on your own.
I wish I had understood exactly what going to a community college meant - that there's a reason it is so affordable. You get what you pay for.
I wish I knew the answers to all of my questions. I wish that I knew for sure what I wanted to do. I wish that money wasn't a constant worry in he back of my mind. I wish that I knew that I was making the right decision for my future. The school that I attend is a great institute but I am blossoming as a student and I want to continue my education and broaden my horizons.
