Bowie has a beautiful campus, but what makes it unique is the managerie of professors it attracts. I remember taking classes from professors who were activitists in developing countries and ones who launched businesses and great polygots. The value of Bowie was not defined by its financial reports, but by the wealth of knowledge espoused by its professors. I had an amazing business communications professor who challenged me in class to the point of sweating out my deodorant. Bowie attracts diverse professor, enriching the college experience for an atypical HBCU.

Bowie State University (BSU) is a Historically Black Institute, which in my opinion differentiates my school from other schools I considered when deciding where to study. The ratio of students to professors is low, creating ample resources for students to receive attention needed to flourish in an academic setting. This minority setting has also proved key in my personal enlightenment to learning more about my culture and diverse history. BSU also provides a comfortable setting for my interest in campus and community involvement. The support at this school reaches beyond the classroom, shaping students for the rest of their lives.

My grandmother who i am very close to also attened Bowie State University which is something i can't say about any other college.

Bowie State University is a school where everyone is considered family. Which is what tempted me to apply. All the schools I applied to were out-of-state institutionsl; if I went there I would have to completely start over. At Bowie there is a chance that you will know some, so that you will not feel alone during this exciting transition.

My school differs from others that I considered in the fact that it was very warm and welcoming. The people here at BSU made me want to never leave here .I was in love with this campus every since the day I stepped foot on it.

Many of the students that attend Bowie State University are local so there is little diversity within the student population.

I love my school. It's small and the people are nice. I have lots of opportunities academically and financially.

While the student body at Bowie State University comprises over 5000 students, there are seven campus ministries. Students at BSU often talk about religion and incorporate their religion in study groups, social conversations, and class discussions. Bible studies and Juma Salat contribute heavily to the cohesiveness among the student body.

Bowie is an HBCU it is a great community, and the campus is beautiful.

Bowie State is unique from the other schools I considered because it is conviently located between two major cities (Washington D.C. and Baltimore, MD), while the institution itself is in a quiet suburb. Its location was ideal to me because it assured me that I wouldn't be too distracted from my studies by immediate surrounding activities, while escape from academic stresses remained less than 30 minutes away.

My school is unique because we are like a big family. We fight and argue but at the end of the day we stick together and handle business.
