Brenau University Top Questions

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Charmain

The school is very diverse. I am constantly meeting new people by going to different events through and around the campus of Brenau. One thing i would change about this school is its bus route, but that changes every year; they are always finding new ways to improve it. The school size, for me, is just right! It's not too big and definitely not too small, and it is constantly growing! People LOVE where Brenau is located, in city of Gainesville, Ga. Its location is ideal to everything nearby. I love it.

The best thing about this school is how many different types of people attend classes here. If I could change one thing though it would have to be the poorly maintained sidewalks. The school is pretty big and everyone walks or bikes so those sidewalks come in pretty handy. When I tell people that I go to NAU they always ask about the snow...it doesn't snow year round :) Most of my time on campus (when not in classes) is split between the Student Union and Cline Library. Flagstaff is a total college town, geared towards student entertainment, public transportation, and even the turn over at local jobs. Recently, there's been a lot of talk about the changing tuition costs and the loss of subsidized loans, but since this is a statewide change the students don't take it out on the administrators. Speaking of students, they all have tons of school pride and tend to be very involved in campus events and elections. There's so much more about this school and its students!

For some odd reason people manage to think that because NAU is in the middle of nowhere there is nothing to do. FALSE!!! The best thing about our school is that they bring us activities. We have $3 weekend movies, Poker nights, variety nights, concerts, PLUS skiing, snowboarding, and sledding when the weather is right. Of course if you like run of the mill shopping stores than Flagstaff might not be the best place for you, but the boutiques and shops are to die for. All of them are so supportive of NAU and their students. Which is why we often host pep rally's downtown. Plus who can beat the overall charm of school's original buildings. As our school continues to grow NAU offers an awesome four years, one great rate plan. So, even if tuition and housing and food go up, your costs won't change for four years. And let's be honest, college is not exactly inexpensive. Flagstaff may be a small town, but it could take Phoenix and Tucson any day.

It's full of nature, but I wish it wasn't so cold in the winter. The size is just right. I've spent most of my time on campus in the Lab Science building. There's lots of school pride. The athletic events are HUGE.

People LOVE where NAU is located, in Flagstaff, AZ, reasons for this are: it is just about an hour away from the Grand Canyon, 45 minutes from Sedona, and close to many more exciting adventurous spots such as the Lava Tubes! I spend most of my time wherever the wind blows me around campus, mostly our new Health and Learning center! Its so fun to workout in there because we literally have everything!! Flagstaff is a college town, but it's definitely nothing like ASU or A of A.. It's not very bold on the parties and football games. There is school pride, but i always think that there is room for more! The most frequent student complaint is that the busses are really slow, but other then that, it's a great campus!
