Brigham Young University-Idaho Top Questions

What's unique about your campus?

Krista

The best thing about BYU-Idaho is the real interest of the professors in individual students besides the whole student body. Professors try their hardest to help students understand the subject they are teaching. They are very perceptive of the learning of each individual student and are available anytime for the aid of the student. Professors love having their students give them feedback as to their teaching style as well as the quality of learning. Overall, the professors at this school are exceptional because they take a real interest in the lives and learnings of thier students.

Megan

The best thing about my school is the focus and concern they have on their students for their own spiritual aspect in life. They care so much and do all that they can to help us to have firm testimonies in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

The atmosohere. At BYU-I, we as students are expected to uphold what we call the Honor Code; individually, as an apartment, and as a school. It's a standard that requires us to be in our apartment at midnight everynight but Fridays, dress professionally and honorably, and maintain a moral code of chastity and integrity. All of these add to the universal campus philosophy that life is learning; it's just beggining when we finish college. These standards, ideas and healthy boundries create an atmosphere where students can focus, and still enjoy a wonderfully healthy college experience.

Hope

The best thing about my school is the atmosphere. The people are so friendly and outgoing. The enviroment promotes learning and creativity. I also like the size of the school. It is small compared to most universities. It is big enough though, that you are always meeting new people. The class sizes are small comparativley, but I think that helps create a more learning-centered atmosphere. Because of the small class sizes, you have more one on one with the teacher. My school is great!

Jessica

The friendly environment and the success driven courses. I attended another university before BYU Idaho and I noticed a huge difference in the intensity of course work. BYU Idaho really prepares you for real world experiences with challenging, beneficial and fun courses. The environment makes one feel comfortable and capable.

MaKayla

This school focuses on not just academic learning but also on becoming a better person in the world, more responsible for the way we live and treat others. Learning is really involved in everything we do here, and we must be able to show to our professors that we are equally engaged in this learning experience. Although this town is small and secluded, I have grown to love the community and all it has to offer.

Trent

The best thing about this school would be it is a fun, little, tight nit college, you really get to know others and almost everybody is friendly. It is easy to get help when needed, and people help because they want to, not because they have to or are ordered to, so you feel wanted and appreciated.

I absolutely love the focus and attention we get from our professors. Because we have a small town atmosphere and our classes are smaller our professors are able to give us one on one attention and our questions are never ignored. Having attended a community college with classes of hundreds before coming to BYUI, I can personally testify to how helpful and important this is to a student. I love being able to talk to my professors and having them respond with care, making sure I fully understand their response and they know my name!

Kimberly

I love how actively involved the proffessor are in their student's learning. The class sizes are generally pretty small, all of my professors know me by name, and they really try to help me learn as much as I can. I feel that the professors, the faculty, and the other students care about my learning experience, and I know that if I ever need help, there are many resources I can look to.

Rebekah

It's a friendly environment, and tight group of students that are open, willing to learn, and ready to accept new ideas and ways. The campus is small, but has room for new developments and possibiliities that are in the future for both current and future students. There is always room for improvement in a new direction and plenty of enthusiasum from teachers, students and the community.

Trissa

The atmosphere is comfortable for learning and motivating for success. Students reach out to students, teachers care about each individual's success, there is a strong emphasis on good moral behavior, and we are there to learn. We help eachother and work together, passing limits that one person could not pass beyond on their own. With talented and caring educators and our personal focus and determination--the world truly is an open door.
