What's unique about your campus?

Dylan

The quality of education at Brigham Young University is amazing! BYU focuses on not just handing out degrees but on preparing students to excel in their field of study. Professors actually care about a student’s personal well-being and personal development (even those who have classes with 600+ students). Whatever a student decides to study here there are amazing opportunities for hands-on learning and application. State of the art STEM labs, theaters, and on-campus internships allow students to gain valuable, applicable experience. Brigham Young University is focused on developing well-rounded individuals.

Sarah

Our school is inexpensive, and absolutely beautiful. The professors and classes are overwhelmingly wonderful, and even beautiful. There are so many resources and aids for students. Our school is focused on students and their well being. We are all thought of individually, and can receive any help that we need.

Katelyn

I love the fact that everyone pretty much has the same religious background. Making friends and study groups is easy and it's nice to learn in the context of things that fit within your religious values. There is no drinking or drugs and no one even wants to be involved in those things. This provides an optimal environment to really work hard and thrive in college. Your mind is clear and your body is healthy which are 2 major things that impact how you learn.

Abigail

It is a wonderful environment full of excited and friendly students. It is a unique combination of secular and spiritual learning that allows each student to grow in unexpected ways. It is very challenging, but it is worth it because you know that you are getting the best possible education.

Robert

The best thing about my school is that it provides an enviornment to be with people who are just like you. Being a private school is allows me to grow in many different ways and gives me many different opportunities to become who I want to be. With many programs and clubs and people who want the same thing as you, it provides friendship with people who will not only be a blessing to me but help me throughout my life.

Miranda

The best thing about BYU is how much freedom the school allows. For example, students are allowed to choose classes and times as they please. This freedom allows the students to learn and grow at their own pace making their education more effective and desirable. As students choose classes and the path they want to take, classes become less tedious because students know they personally chose to be there. This creates a contagious love for learning throughout campus making it a lot easier and more fun to learn.

Jacob

Brigham Young University has a very mature environement with its honor code. Many would take this code, which prohibits alcohol, tobacco, drug and substance abuse, harassment of any form, and abuse of internet to be a high restriction of one's liberties; however, I have found that with these specific prohibitions, a student can more fully and effectively focus their time and efforts on the primary reason for attending a university- learning.

Payton

The best thing about Brigham Young University is the atmosphere among the students. There is a strong environment of helpfulness and friendliness that just can't be beat. The students share a strong value system, and the school's Honor Code is simply the best in the country for those looking for a conservative, fun, and clean college experience. I would strongly recommend this college to anyone looking for a wholesome college environment.

Casey

The best thing about BYU is the mixing of spiritual and worldly knowledge. You get to see how God's hand is in science, mathematics, hsitory, and so on. You also are reminded that worldly knowledge is just a means for providing for your family and helping others.

Hannalyn

The best thing about Brigham Young University is the students. Students at Brigham Young University come from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 110 countries. The non-LDS students here represent more than 25 faiths. As of Fall 2012, BYU reported that 14 percent of it's students came from minority groups. It's an honor to attend school with such a wonderful, loving, and diverse group of people. I will probably never get an opportunity like this again.

Alan

The best thing about BYU is the campus spirit and community. Because nearly all of the students are the same religion it provides cohesiveness and group identity. We also love our sports.

Heidi

I consider the students to be the best thing. They are always helpful to the new students.

Ian

Great quality school for undergraduate programs. Graduate programs good quality but limited in number and very competative.

Brian

The environment in which the students feel for each other, and care for one another. This is manifest by the standards held here by practically everyone, since one must sign a form stating they'll follow the honor code.

Kaylene

The staff are friendly and genuinely care about you. The classes are challenging but you can always find help when you need it. There is so much school pride, and you don't have to worry about things like people drinking, doing drugs, or breaking the law of chastity, because to attend BYU you abide by a strict Honor Code. It is such a wonderful school, and it's hard to pick the best things about it because everything is so wonderful.

Jordyn

The best thing about Brigham Young University is the freedom it gives me to puruse my educational, as well as spiritual, goals. Just as our founding fathers came to America in search of religious freedom, we are free to engage our intellectual and spiritual sides in the pursuit of higher education. I couldn't make it through college life without it. Afterall, how many students enter college testing centers around the world without first offering up a supplication or prayer? At BYU, this is acknowledged as an essential part of our lives, no matter what religion we may be.

Ariel

Nearly everyone at this university shares the same values which include service, charity, and kindness. If you ever have any problems everyone wants to help you out. Students encourage each other to be open-minded, even though it is a private religious school, and to be kind (even to our rivals). My favorite thing is knowing that if I ever needed anything at any time of day or night I could run over to the next apartment and somebody would help me out for sure. Nearly everybody here is really good.

Jordan

The best thing about BYU is the environment. Everyone is ready and willing to help. There is no drinking, drugs, or other distractions that you get at other universities. It is academically challenging and very highly recruited for any field of study.

Jessica

I think the best thing about BYU is our ability to have fun, learn, make friends, and enjoy life while still sticking to our standards regarding alcohol, drugs, sex, etc. At many colleges, abuse of these things happens quite a bit and I believe much of that is due to the idea that those those things are necessary to have a good time. Consequently, life can get out-of-control surprisingly quickly. At BYU, however, these things are rare, and that is great because we are able to really learn about and have fun as ourselves.

Anna

The best thing about BYU is definitely the spirit of the classroom. Every class gets into deep discussions and exciting lectures because the teachers truly care about what they teach. The students feel important and everyone has the goal of improving together. No matter if you are in a class of 500 or 12, you can know that there will always be a friendly face to sit by and a great discussion to take part in. I have learned so much during my time here.

Amber-Kathleen

Firstly, the tuition is really cheap. The professors always care about the students and there are many facilities to get help in school. There are a lot of interesting classes and the religion classes are fun. Having the professors care about you makes you feel like you are not alone and that you can ask for help.

Nicholas

North Greenville is a very good school because i t gives you oportunity explore your faith in your religion to help in your community and the staff always concerned in which can help you in persuding your career I love them because they are always there to help you.

Jonathan

The on-campus activities. When you are one of the car-less legions, it's nice to have so many social options so close to campus housing. Dances, sporting events, affordable restuarants, rallies, everything is a six-minute walk from the dormitory.

David

The atmosphere is very exciting. It seems as if there is always something going on on campus.

Clint

There is a strong sense of religious importance in an academic setting. Students are encouraged to be well-balanced in their extra-curricular activites, academic achievements, and giving back to the community. Because it is a private-institution, there are many opportunities to meet people with similar interests and values, and the environment provides a safe place to live and recreate. Professors aren't afraid of, and are encouraged to, relate the academic material to the beliefs of the Mormon church and how God, who is an expert on all academic subjects, can enable students better the world around them.

Curtis

You get the best education for your money. It is one of the cheapest private schools in America, yet it still has world renowned professors and programs. They also offer undergraduate research in my college which is extremely helpful.

Chris

The school is run differently than others in such a way that students are guaranteed the best education and college experience possible.

Daniel

The education. Brigham Young University is known for its high quality of education. It has very competent professors who care for their students. It also has a variety of resources that students can use in order to succeed in all their classes. A large library with thousands of computers, laboratories, mentors, and hundreds of advisers are provided in order to help students in their careers. Besides all these, tuition is very affordable. The environment is one that inspire you to study and do your best. It was the best choice I have made.

Michael

I love the values that the school teaches and enforces. School should be a moral molding process and an academical one too. It's great to be able to obtain a masters and undergraduate, but if there is no strength of character and a basic set of values instilled, then the bright future dims because of unfocused directions and degrading behavior .

Brittany

I love that my school incorporates my religious beliefs along with my schooling. I love that in many of my classes we pray to bring the spirit at the beginning of the class. I love that we have weekly devotionals where all kinds of people come and speak to us. (Of course I also LOVE attending all the wonderful sporting events!!)

Stephanie

The friendly atmosphere. Everything at BYU is welcoming and warm and fun. I highly recommend giong to BYU! I loved my time there.

Linda

Excellent maintenance of facilities/grounds/equipment, intense focus on assisting all aspects of student life, great focus on developing quality service-minded citizens and people with solid character - not just handing out degrees or trying to get high rankings, plethora of social opportunities, the MISSION STATEMENT

Melanie

Because it is a school focused on combining secular learning with the Latter-Day-Saint religion, the best thing about it is the atmosphere of being surrounded by thousands of people who all believe the same things. In almost every classroom the beliefs and values of the LDS religion are incorporated into the subject matter, whether it be science and math or writing and rhetoric.

EJ

It is very conservative and clean. A good atmosphere for learning.

Sara

I love the atmosphere. I don't ave to deal with drinking and sex all over the place. Our Honor Code requires us to dress appropriately and abstain from sex, drugs and alcohol. On top of that, we all take school seriously while realizing there is a time for fun.

Jessica

The best thing about BYU is how friendly and accepting both the students and faculty are. As a freshman it was, of course, a whole new experience for me. Not once did I feel like I couldn't ask someone for help when I was unsure of something. The students are service oriented and willing to do all they can for others. I also found the same about the faculty. It is easy to tell that the professors want the best for their students. They make time to meet one on one and are very understanding in various circumstances.

Rebecca

I love the environment here. Everyone is nice and friendly and the honor code keeps everyone safe and happy. BYU is a great place to make new, lifelong friends.

Charissa

The best part about BYU is the amazing teaching staff. The professors that teach there are experts in their fields and very passionate about what they do. Most teachers that I have had are very easy to listen to and really care about their students. They will go out of their way to help students that miss class, don't understand hard concepts, and those that just want to know more about the class subject. I have loved my experience with teh professors at BYU, and would recommend this school to anyone up to an academic challenge.

Bryan

It is a very clean and friendly environment. The students generally seem happy, with high standards, and are often more then willing to help out others when they need it.

Loren

The best thing about BYU is that it has a vast arena of resources on campus to help with any student need.

Meredith

I love that BYU brings together religious and secular learning very smoothly. I am not overwhelmed with religious teachings, but at the same time I am not bombarded with disparaging comments about my religion. It's very nice to be at a school with people who are all striving to excel academically and who also share the same values that I do.

Heather

They push you and challenge you to do your best. The standards here are pretty high when it comes to academic excellence and I think that really helps students to push themselves. I think that is the best thing because it produces hard working students with high standards, which is good in a world where standards and morals are decreasing.

Sherry

The best thing that I consider about my school is the environment. You almost never go a day without seeing someone smile at you or hold the door open for you. The air is fresh, and you can always inhale deeply.

Sarah

The atmosphere and education would be what I consider best about my school. The students and professors are all very friendly and they help in any way they can. The classes are no walk-in-the-park, but they stretch the minds of the students and push them to their full potential. The atmosphere of the school is one of the very best in that it is a sober campus and everyone is modest in attire. Most everyone is well behaved which provides for a wonderful learning enviornment.

Alice

The best thing about Brigham Young Unviersity is that you don't have to find alternative ways to get into a building, because someone is smoking outside. The overall environment is great. You can see people playing frisbee or just having fun all around campus. I do like to say that when it comes to overall health it is a college that is pretty healthy.

Trevor

BYU strives for excellence in everything. It is growing in prestige both in its academic and athletic programs. It is inspiring as a student to be involved with such greatness. In my frame of reference I'm receiving the very best education money can buy. It is that sense of pride and community that I consider to be the best thing about BYU.

Krista

Brigham Young is a place for dreams to be made reality. I love how open teachers are to helping you succeed and obtain your dreams. When i first started at BYU i made an effort to talk to my teachers and get to know them. It has been such a blessing to have mentors to email and turn to for answers to questions that have come long after passing the class. I also love the surroundings that BYU offers. It a clean university and strives to accept students who will continue to keep it clean.

Dianna

The best thing about BYU is the atmosphere there. There is a lot of school spirit. There is a lot of diversity in the student body and everyone gets along well. There is a lot of help available. You don't feel like you are being judged there.

Keri
