The person who attends Brigham Young University should be committed to excellence and to life-long learning. This is not a school for people who like to play all day without doing any work. If you are into partying and drinking and doing drugs, you should definitely not come to this school. There is a zero-tolerance policy for any of those things and I am glad because I don't want to have friends that party while I'm trying to do the best I can in school to be able to graduate and get a job. Someone should attend BYU if they feel a safe and healthy environment is what they want.

The kind of person who should attend this school is a very well rounded person. Someone who has high morals and is a goal setter. They also should like to be around people and be friendly. This is a very social atmosphere, yet everyone here is very concerned about their education. The students of BYU also have a very strong background in religion.

People that want a great education in any almost any field for really low tuition. Only people who do not drink, smoke and do drugs would fit in. Students are really squeaky clean. You have to be willing to keep a lot of rules, but that doesn't mean that it's lame. Extremely outgoing and funloving people fit right in, just like bookworms. BYU is a great positive environment.

Because it is a church-sponsored school, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints feel at home here. However, people who are interested in learning in an environment where the existance of God is accepted, should attend this school. There are many opportunities for students to participate in research, service, activism, and other activities, so this school is perfect for people who like to have a busy and diverse schedule.

Elizabeth

Natalie

Although the school is open to whoever would like to attend, there is an honor code that can be a little uncomfortable for someone who may not be living with similar standards to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is not a party school but provides a great learning environment for someone dedicated to their studies. While the university is tolerant of different ideas and values, it should not be expected to embrace most liberal ideas i.e. homosexuality, cohabitation, abortion, etc. The campus is clean, safe, and welcoming.

Camille

Well it's a religious school, so the majority of the students are of that particular religion. There is a strict honor code, so people who would want to attend this school should either be of that religion or able to put up with it, and also should be willing to obey the honor code as best they can. It is an academically challenging school, and a student there should be able to work hard to learn and do well in classes.
