What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Sometimes it's hard to voice a more conservative opinion. Many students also go out of their way to be politcally correct and avoid offending anyone, which can sometimes make discussions hard because you're self-censoring at all times.

Of course, the kingdom was not without its faults. As a wise man once said, "With great power comes great responsibility." Okay, maybe that was Peter Parker's uncle in Spiderman... but, let's be honest, he was actually pretty wise, right? In the same way, kingdom's greatest strength was also its burden. Each student needed to take personal responsibility; they could not remain an idle spectator of their education without their college experience suffering. Sometimes this responsibility troubled students, but in the end, it was this effort that allowed them to reach the reward of a true education.

Everyone at Brown is so interesting. All the students here have a story. If ever you begin to doubt yourself, you must remember that you also are a student here.

I am a Visual Arts concentrator so I am very interested in cross-registering with RISD, but the schedules of the two schools are quite different. RISD's studio classes usually meet in 5 hour blocks once a week, whereas Brown classes meet more frequently for less time each session. This difference makes planning a schedule difficult. The RISD classes also start later and you are usually not guaranteed a spot in those classes, so you are left with having to make Plans B and C in case you don't get into your desired RISD class.

The most frusterating thing about my school is that there is so much to do, and it seems not enough time to do it! There are so many different classes that I would like to take, and have the opportunity to take because there is no core curriculum or distribution requirements. Also there is so much to do outside of the classroom including guest lecturers, clubs, community service, intramural sports it seems I won't have enough time within my four years to do everthing that I want to, there is alot to choose from!

There is a large, over-powering force of liberalism that cannot be overturned or even changed the slightest bit. In other words, there is a certain mob mentality that exists amongst campus students with regards to liberalism and Democratic politics.

Jake

Being an engineer and working my ass off all the time while being forced to watch all my friends and peers in humanities classes slipping by under the ropes by smoking weed and writing essays all day.

Elizabeth

The most frustrating thing about Brown is that there's almost too many things to do and someone is always doing something more important or more meaningful than you. Sometimes, it's difficult to feel important or like you are making enough of a difference when there are so many actively amazing people around you bettering the world around them.
