It’s a solid school. It does have a big basketball culture, and a lot of groups to fit in to, but it can be difficult to find a place when the groups and clubs are very active. It thins out those that are lost and confused and pushes them into u comfortable situations, which can be great or detrimental, depending on the person. Controversy can be handled poorly, but it is balanced with the individuality of ourselves if we let out our opinions.

Hunter-Rae - 12/16/2022

Butler is an amazing school if you are looking to have connections with your professors. My classes here at Butler are actually smaller than they were at my high school! This also means that you should be prepared to make genuine connections with both students and faculty.

THIS SEEMS TO BE AN EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD UNIVERSITY. THE PROFESSORS ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE (I EMAILED THEM LAST WEEK WITH SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ABOUT ACTUARIAL SCIENCE AND THEY SENT ME AN INFORMATION-PACKED REPLY WITHIN DAYS), ACADEMICS ENCOURAGES YOU TO GO BEYOND THE CLASSROOM, AND THE FACILITIES (ESPECIALLY THE BRAND-NEW BUSINESS BUILDING) ARE WELL-ADAPTED FOR THE MODERN WORKING WORLD. I AM DEFINITELY APPLYING.

It's a private school, be cautious of your money. However, Butler has fulfilled its duty in having many resources, tutors, great professors, nice dormitories (Not Ross) and alright food. Study as much as you can and always seek professor's assistance when they're available. The outcome either positive or negative is mostly determined by you if you're balancing your social, academic and physical(the food may get to you) life well.

My classmates are all over-achievers. They are all the type of people that don't give up and strive to do well in their major. The most frustrating thing about my school is the cost. Butler University offers one of the greatest educations but when you are majoring in education, the cost does not balance the major. Therefore I have to decide whether I want to be an amazing teacher or not be in so much debt when I get older. Why can't I do both?

  19. Why did you decide to go to this school?

I found Butler pretty late in my college search. I was almost completely set on another school in Minnesota, but my family decided to visit Butler anyway. The minute I walked on campus I had an overwhelming feeling. I just thought "wow this is what I imagined college would be like." It sounds cheesy, but tons of students will say that same thing. When I did more research, I saw what a good academic, social and athletic reputation Butler had. So I took a leap of faith, I applied and I accepted. Since that moment, I have never regretted my decision to go to Butler. It's truly my second home, and I love everything about it.

As most people know, our men's basketball team has made it to the National Championship two years in a row, so we're getting a lot of attention. A lot of people support the other sports as well, but as of now everyone makes it to the basketball games primarily.
