Butler is an amazing school if you are looking to have connections with your professors. My classes here at Butler are actually smaller than they were at my high school! This also means that you should be prepared to make genuine connections with both students and faculty.
THIS SEEMS TO BE AN EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD UNIVERSITY. THE PROFESSORS ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE (I EMAILED THEM LAST WEEK WITH SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ABOUT ACTUARIAL SCIENCE AND THEY SENT ME AN INFORMATION-PACKED REPLY WITHIN DAYS), ACADEMICS ENCOURAGES YOU TO GO BEYOND THE CLASSROOM, AND THE FACILITIES (ESPECIALLY THE BRAND-NEW BUSINESS BUILDING) ARE WELL-ADAPTED FOR THE MODERN WORKING WORLD. I AM DEFINITELY APPLYING.
It's a private school, be cautious of your money. However, Butler has fulfilled its duty in having many resources, tutors, great professors, nice dormitories (Not Ross) and alright food. Study as much as you can and always seek professor's assistance when they're available. The outcome either positive or negative is mostly determined by you if you're balancing your social, academic and physical(the food may get to you) life well.
I enjoy the school and am very happy that I am a student here. The class sizes are perfect for me and the professors are more then willing to assist and address any needs that I have. I like the student opportunities but wished there were more on campus things like dining and shopping.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Butler University is 72%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Look at what suits your needs best: consider social life, cost of attending for four years, range of majors offered, career placement services
Butler University is a school dedicated to broadening a student's horizons by directing their focus in various areas that their major can be applied through art, literature, science, math, and history.
It lacks in the amount of racial diversity
I wish I had known more about the social environment of the school. Butler University as a whole has a very extroverted personality, and it is harder for those who are more introspective to find their niche. This can be a difficult adjustment and transition especially when it is so easy to sit back and watch all the socializing and not participate yourself.
My classmates are all over-achievers. They are all the type of people that don't give up and strive to do well in their major. Mostly they're all genuinely nice people that strive for the same type of education I am. A solid education from a private school that can give them one-on-one attention.
What's unique about Butler is the stuent to faculty ratio, which is 12:1. This has always been a strength of Butler and has always helped me to excel in my classes. I can make relationships with the professors and they know me by name. Another unique characteristic is that it is a liberal arts school, meaning that I get a well-balanced education that will prepare me for the rest of my life.
The best thing about Butler is the career opportunities it gives its students during their years of schooling and also once they graduate.
Anyone who is seeking a great education and is typically a very focused individual would love it at my school.
someone who wants to get lost in the back of a lecture hall. Small class sizes promote participation from ALL students and not doing your work does not fly.
The most frustrating thing about my school is the cost. Butler University offers one of the greatest educations but when you are majoring in education, the cost does not balance the major. What I mean is, I want to be the best teacher I can be when I get older but being a teacher won't pay for the expensive cost of Butler's education. Therefore I have to decide whether I want to be an amazing teacher or not be in so much debt when I get older. Why can't I do both?
Its basketball team and high class standing
The intimacy. It is a small school, with small classes and you really get to know everyone. It is near a big city but at the same time has a campus and is oriented aroudn the campus. It is an open and freindly enviorment. It is perfect.
Butler offers a variety of clubs, intramural sports, volunteer opportunities, and Greek life. Some of the most popular are Dawg Pound and BU Dance Marathon.
I absolutely love this school and everything about it.
Class sizes are usually small so you get one-on-one time with professors. They come to know you by name and really care for you. Academics are challenging so a usual sight to see on campus is people out on the mall studying on a blanket or study groups in various rooms in some of the buildings.
The stereotype of Butler students is stuck-up, rich, white students. Sometimes the stereotype is true. Butler lacks in diversity, but everyone is exceptionally friendly.
When Butler went to the Final Four, everyone filled the streets on campus while music was playing and everyone was going crazy! Every time we won a game, this would happen and I'll never forget how excited everyone was.
The best AND worst part of the social scene is that everyone knows everyone. This can be good or bad for someone depending on the type of reputation you make for yourself within the first semester. Fall semester is better for parties usually.
As most people know, our men's basketball team has made it to the National Championship two years in a row, so we're getting a lot of attention. A lot of people support the other sports as well, but as of now everyone makes it to the basketball games primarily.
Great! Small and professor encourage us to participate! They know me by my name.
