The small size (about 4000 students) means small classes, and no TAs. The campus, though in the city of Indianapolis, is absolutely gorgeous. The Holcomb Gardens on campus are beautiful, and many students walk through it on the way to class. The longest walk to class is about 10 minutes, and for most students it is more like 5 minutes. Though the campus is small and beautiful, the city is not far away. Broad Ripple is a great place to hang with friends on the weekends, and there is so much to do there.

Lauren

It's a smaller percentage of students compared to state schools. It's very personal and it's a close community. I chose the school because of their fine arts college, where dance and music are well-known.

Olivia

Butler University is unique compared to other schools because it has an exploratory program for those many undecided students. My school does not require of you to jump right into a major; it provides you with the option of exploring your choices and getting to know a little bit about each major that they offer to us as students. These decisions aren't left up to you to figure out on your own; a course is dedicated to help you in your decision making process which I personally found helpful. Overall, I have a better idea of what I want.

What I find most unique about my school compared to the other schools I considered is the overall atmosphere. It's amazing being there. The best features are the buildings and landscaping. It is honestly beautiful year-round, and I love going on walks. There is a bike path right next to the school and there is also a garden that is nice to go to for studying because it is so relaxing and peaceful.

Butler has a nationally ranked Pharmacy program, and is also a small liberal arts school. Because it is very prestigous and also can give students more one-on-one attention, I felt I would have a better chance of succesfully earning a Doctor of Pharmacy here.

The school's job placement percentage is very high compared to other surrounding universities. Also the school work is very challenging and engaging and makes you work for your grade.

Brittany

I love that fact that Butler is a small school surounded by a big, fun, and eventful city! The average student to professor ratio is 11:1 so students really get the one-on-one attention they may need from their professors. The professors are also great and seem to be one of the student's biggest fans! They are always so helpful and they don't want to see you fail--they want you to leave their class knowing more and having bigger dreams and higher standards for their life. Butler is a great schhol!

Rachel

Some unique things about my school are the extra curricular activities that it offers. Also, the faculty genuinly cares about the students they teach and will go to great lengths to see them succeed.

Everyone hear is so accepting and open-minded when it comes to new things. There are tons of fun things to do on campus that are free. There is a strong sense of community emphasized. You will see the same people everyday and eventually will feel like a second home to you.

Butler University is home away from home. There are so many great aspects about this University that make students feel so comfortable when they are there. In addition to being an absolutely beautiful Butler Univeristy has everything that reminds students of home, at least in some aspect. Your friends become your family, your education becomes your motivation to succeed, and the University services (such as Student Accounts, the Health Center, and even the mailroom!) become your helping hand in day-to-day activities or problems encountered that are important for every student away from home for the first time.

Victoria

Stuart

What's unique about Butler is the stuent to faculty ratio, which is 12:1. This has always been a strength of Butler and has always helped me to excel in my classes. I can make relationships with the professors and they know me by name. Another unique characteristic is that it is a liberal arts school, meaning that I get a well-balanced education that will prepare me for the rest of my life.

Meredith

Butler is a very close-knit community where I know a lot of students, but it is still large enough that I continue to meet new people throughout the semester. There is also a nice balance between pressure to succeed academically while still being encouraged to enjoy college through social events and volunteering in the Indianapolis area.

Danielle

Butler University is a private school. My whole life I have attended public schools and been exposed to a large variety of people. Financial assistance allowed me to attend this school where people value education and don't screw around. We have the largest telescope in the state at our Holcomb observatory. We are home to the famous basketball bulldogs. Clowes is our performance hall that hosts MANY broadway shows and concerts; students get discounts. The heart of our campus is a Starbucks cafe, which was the first Starbucks on a college campus in Indiana.
