What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

To find the right college, you need to look for diversity in the majors and the clubs and organizations that are offered. Definitely, your first-choice major should be available. Like many college students, you may have doubts about your major and may want to change it. If you do decide to change, you may want to consider back-up majors that you may also be interested in. Simply taking classes and going home is quite boring and is not part of the full college experience. That is why it is important that the university you are considering should to have a wide variety of clubs and organizations so that at least one suits your interests. Clubs and organizations are a great way to pursue an interest and share it with others, network, and make many friends, hopefully forging lifelong friendships.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The location of the Student Health Services building because it is on a corner of the campus map. Also, it is located next to parking lots and buildings that require reaching them by going uphill. In that way, it seems separated from the rest of the campus and inconvenient to get to. Living on campus for the last two years, I needed to walk for at least ten minutes in order to get to the Health Services. It was especially tedious to make that walk when I had back spasms.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Given that it is a public state university, Cal Poly Pomona, among the rest of the California State University system, has suffered from the state buget cuts this past year. Before the cuts, it was difficult enough to enroll into classes. The cuts forced numerous teachers from the science and math departments to be fired. Keeping in mind that original enrollment difficulty, science and math classes were cut in half. To add insult to injury, those classes majorly consisted of general education classes required of Engineering majors, which is what the university is widely know for.
