California State University-Channel Islands Top Questions

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Nicholas

This school is not for the avid Party-goers. Anyone looking for that complete American "college experience" should look elsewhere. Sports are not a big thing on campus either, and there is an overall feeling of calm and privacy. Those in search of a crowded campus life with so many things going on one could feel overwhelmed, won't find that here.

Evelyn

If you are not used to a small school then this is not the school for you to attend. If you like sports and want to join not the school for you because we only have club sports. Don't have a big recreational center and no big pool like a lap pool. If you are used to big class sizes not the school for you.

Jennifer

A person who has big city dreams. You can definately get into the big city from here but if you need to always be in a big city area this small town is not for you. It is very cute with wonderful weather but small. However, you are only an hour away from Los Angeles or Santa Barbara, smackin the middle of both!

Spencer

If you are a hard core partier do not come to Channel Islands, this is not the school for you. The school and housing focuses on academics. This school puts the student at the center of their education making sure all the students needs are met.

Amara

Someone who shouldn't attend CSU Channel Islands would be somebody who likes big cities and constant activity because the school is located in a fairly small town without much other than farmland surrounding it. Also, someone who wants to compete professionally in athletics, because this school doesn't have many competative sports, and of those it does provide, the involvement is mainly casual.

Nicole

Someone who wants to go to a large campus. People who like to stay on campus over the weekends

Alexandra

A person who is open to new ideas and respects other people's individuality.

Cassondra

Someone who likes a small class learning environment. Who gets to know your teacher very well and gets a lot of work done. You might not want to go if you are not very good at socializing with people because it is a small school and hard to meet people. Partying is limited and not allowed much on campus unless it is school affiliated.

Jimmy
