I am not sure.
Something that I hear is that there isn't anything to do at our school, since it is located right in the valley. However that is not true. There are plenty of activities and outings a person can go to. The key idea is to get involved. There are many clubs organizations related to almost every major. Also of course there is the Greek life. You can also get involved in the community, being that right across the street from campus there is a food pantry that many students, such as myself, have volunteered at. There are many resources that students could go to if they wish to be involved such as the Student Involvement Office on Campus. Fresno State has many opportunities for students to get to know one another.
Students are all striving for one common goal: Success.
Many people believe that Fresno State is "not such a good school", and that students who pick Fresno State over other schools are "settling". This is FALSE. Like every other university, you have a mix of people, and a mix of motivation and achievement levels. However, we have many intelligent students, including those who graduated high school with GPAs above 4.0s. Fresno State students have gone far and become very successful- we have had graduates that went on to become NASA astronauts, educators, judges, CEOs... and so much more!
Our school is often a common prey of stereotypes. According to the most recent demographic stats, most of the population at Fresno State is made up of white people, trailing with the hispanics at the number two spot. This stereotype of Jocks and Frat kids is completely false because if you pay more attention to the stats, it shows that Fresno State does not rely heavily on the population of whites and hispanics. In fact, only 65{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of them make up the entire population. The rest are from different minority groups all around the globe!
