The popular student activities I've seen is studying. Everyone is always studying, doing homework, and just talking about school. One activities I've seen on campus was a group of students talking about how in coming students are coming into college confused and not knowing what to do. I stood there listening because I felt like that when I first got there, confused and lost. They also talked about how people look at peoples appearance and how they judge with out taking the time to know that person. This group of students made me think about a lot of things.
I don't think there is a single group that dominates campus. There are apprximately 28,000 students. The alumni association makes its presence known. Athletic events and greek life? Not very important. I met my closest friends in class. Friends can be found if you make the effort. People tend to be friendly. Definitely not cliquish, except maybe first semester freshmen who haven't left high school behind but that usually changes once they mature. If I'm awake at 2AM on Tuesday, I am probably studying. What can I do on Saturday that doesn't involve drinking? It's LA, so sky is truly the limit here. What do I do off campus? I work and network.
