If you are a femaile going liscene track you have to be a fighter, strong, focused, never quite, and most of all well rounded. You do a lot of hands on assignmets that gets your hands dirty.
Anyone who is not willing to wear a uniform and stand watch from 4am to 8am while its 38 degrees out should stay away. other than that this school is not for people who dont want to be on the ocean sailing. you are required to sail at least 6 months ( two cruises) while a student.
The kind of person that should not attend this school is one who is unable to adapt to his or her surroundings. The first year is a cake walk, but when sophomore and junior year arrive, the required time investment to keep your gpa from sinking, increases exponentially. One needs to stay afloat. Adapt.
A person who doesn't know what they want to do in life. Someone who doesn't like structure and a strong core of students. A person who doesn't want professors to push them, or simply aren't willing to put in the effort to succeed in life. A person who only cares for himself and has no interest in the well-being of a fellow student. A person who doesn't like to travel. A person who wouldn't want to go to sea for more than 60 days.
If you hate regitmentation; strict uniform and grooming standards. If you need diversity or want a lot of courses to choose from.
