The school is a private school so the classes tend to be small the largest amount of students in a class I have been in was about thirty. The professors are there for help but there are other options too. Capital University has academic success which allows student to find one on one tutor for a certain class, or a group session. The range of diversity is a bit low, but the students are respectful to all. Also, the university gives scholarships which somewhat offsets the high tuition.
It is great for nursing and music. It is a small campus where everyone sort of knows of everyone. Smaller campus and classes allow for more opportunities related to your major-- internships, gigs, etc. Campus housing isn't great, food is okay, but they offer lots of scholarships.
It is a very small school and, because of this, feels very much like high school. Admissions does a good job of reeling you in. Academics are good and people are nice. Columbus is a great city but unless you have reliable transportation in and out of the city, the Uber rides can get expensive. I find it hard to take pride in my school. If I knew that this is what it was going to be, I would not have made this choice.
Capital University is a great sized smaller campus. The walk to class is less than 5 minutes anywhere on campus. The friendships made here are great and people do care about everyone! The professors are nice and are very open to meeting with you outside the classroom. All class sizes are perfect with about 20-25 students in every class. Cute community of Bexley with lots of great shops and is located in Columbus with endless things to do. People are extremely friendly on campus and I have never felt unsafe.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Capital University is 69%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Be open to new experiences. Enjoy every minute that you have been given. Learn to budget and save money to cover the costs of tuition and textbooks as well as living costs.
I really enjoyed my experience as a night Student. I do not have anything bad to relate to.
I would recommend Capital to someone who can make friends easily. Being such a small campus is is easy for one to get left behind if they don't put themselves out there in some way. There are plenty of activites if you look for them. Also if you like being in a confined space, the campus is small and put together.
My school is unique compared to others because it offers my major of Middle Childhood Education and allows for me to enter the classroom as a second year education student. The 21st century research and innovative methods of teaching enable me to reach students better; giving me a knowledge base that many other colleges do not offer. This allows for me to be a effective and change provoking educator.
Capital is best known for the music programs and the nursing program. These are big areas of focus for many people that attend Capital.
The freedom to personalize my degree was much appreciated.
With Capitals students being so unique it takes a different kind of school to house them, Capital is a small campus but it allows students to fulfill their dream wheter it takes one major or three.
I would have wanted to know how much I would have changed though being involved. I would have been a lot more open in high school and would have enjoyed it better. I feel like the people at Capital have changed me for the better and I cant see myself anywere else.
I brag about everything that I have experienced on campus. I love it at Capital. It is just the right size for being such a small school, the activities are wonderful, the staff is wonderful, the facilities workers are wonderful. I love bragging about my co'ed fraternity the most. Greek life on Capital's campus is very prominent and its literally like have a second family that you are not where near related to. The students are so close on campus over all that we refer to everyone as the capfam.
They're all here to learn. Most of them are very determined to succeed.
Not being able to join all the clubs I want due to playing a sport as well as not being able to fit things like studying abroad into my schedule without taking more than 4 years to graduate
Someone who isn't ready to get their hands and mind completely emmersed into school. Small classes, lots of group projects, and lots of diversity here, but if you are a wild partier, this is not your place.
As an Art Education major I think the school is great. The art progam is wonderful and they provide a lot of the more expensive items needed for classes like canvas ad paint. The education department while tough is great and I can get mu teaching licence right after i graduate instead of having to take additional courses like students at OSU have to do. From an African American Student is it an interesting school. While I have found my group of people to hang around, the school is mostly white students and some of them are very racist as well. Overall, while the school may be very expensive, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
The academics vary from class to class. Some are very easy while others are overly hard. it all just depends on the professor.
