I took advantage of academic pursuits while at Capital. My professors offered me a variety of knowledge; additionally, whatever they were unable to provide they then were able to steer me in a new direction. If you are someone who is looking for a school that is small, personal, and dedicated toward continuing your education, Capital is a solid choice. Some of the buildings could use updating, but honestly that is everywhere somewhere down the line. I HATED the dorms. I stayed on campus one year, and lived off the remaining three years and honestly I thrived better living off campus. There are a lot of wonderful places to explore off-campus. The running joke when I attended was Capital is considered a suitcase college because most students went home on the weekends or visited OSU. Do your research on your major and the professors associated with it. And remember to take classes you may not be interested in taking - I actually found some of my favorite professors ended up being outside my major/minor faculty.

Maryan - 11/16/2023

The school is a private school so the classes tend to be small the largest amount of students in a class I have been in was about thirty. The professors are there for help but there are other options too. Capital University has academic success which allows student to find one on one tutor for a certain class, or a group session. The range of diversity is a bit low, but the students are respectful to all. Also, the university gives scholarships which somewhat offsets the high tuition.

Capital University is a unique community, perfectly placed in bustling Bexley, Ohio. The location allows for a big city feel, but the small student count allows for you to feel like a part of a family here. Student resources are endless, making anyone from a scared freshman to a knowing senior feel at home here.

Taylor - 05/01/2020

I really like Capital! The classes are small which make it nice to be able to form a connection to your professors! I'm actually triple majoring in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology and the track they set up for that is better than anywhere else! They are very helpful and the most I've waited for a response from anyone on campus was 3 days and that was only because it was the holiday. Best private school in the state!

  14. What is your overall opinion of this school?

As an Art Education major I think the school is great. The art progam is wonderful and they provide a lot of the more expensive items needed for classes like canvas ad paint. The education department while tough is great and I can get mu teaching licence right after i graduate instead of having to take additional courses like students at OSU have to do. From an African American Student is it an interesting school. While I have found my group of people to hang around, the school is mostly white students and some of them are very racist as well. Overall, while the school may be very expensive, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
