What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Students at Carnegie Mellon are pressured and pushed to perform at a high level of academic achievement. A large amount of coursework can be expected in every course. As a result, students often lose sight of both long-term goals and social well-being. The high expectations associated with every course are also frustrating as they tend to limit the breadth of studies a student can pursue. Students inevitably become less-than-perfectly rounded as their studies progress.

A large majority of the students are very shy and do not do well in social situations. This is frustrating because at this university, working with other students, and combining projects on an interdisciplinary level is very beneficial due to how knowledgeable students are in their respective area. It would be so much easier to communicate with the less outgoing students if they were more open to social interaction on a day to day basis.

The housing system. They are simply running out of room, and more and more dorms are turning all-freshman, which means that sophomores tend to get screwed and get stuck in campus-owned apartments, which are nice, but pretty far. And it's not nice walking in Pittsburgh snow.
