What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

STAY FOCUSED!!! There are so many distractions in college; new environment, meeting new friends, sporting events. It is important to remember all the hard work and sacrifice it took to get to college. It doesn't matter if it is the local community college, studying abroad or across the country. Graduate from college, THEN explore, enjoy yourself, your friends and activities after graduation. This does not mean never to laugh or have a good time, but school comes first. School is why you are there, remember the ultimate goal.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had the opportunity to attend this school before I took classes at a large University where I seldom was given the opportunity to ask questions are speak to my instructor. Often the students communicated only with student instructors.

Describe the students at your school.

Considering that this is a Vocational College, there are people from every walk of life and every color of the rainbow. There are students who have never gone to a College, and some that have gone through a four year university and have chosen to make a career change. No matter what you have gone through or how many years you have wasted trying to decide what to do with your life, you will fit in and you will have the support of the entire classroom. No matter how old or how young, this is the place for you.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

My school gives you "real" word experience. It is hands on. Small classes and teachers that have excelled in the program and field that we are entering. You get into your field and start earning a living in a shorter amount of time than Community Colleges and or Universities. There is job placement assistance and the whole school is on your side. You feel and are very supported by everybody in the school including your classmates.

DON'T WAIT! Life is full of stops and go's and you will be ill prepared for it all without your education. You got caught up in the forever and never thought about the now. Nothing is forever and you are not expected to choose your forever fresh out of high school. Choose your now, choose what you love to do, and if that changes, there are resources and Colleges to assist you in all your changes. There are 24 hours in a day, roughly half that will be spent making money. The worst thing about a job is to think about what you do as, just that - a job or a burden. Find something that will jaz you up in the morning and you will be excited about accomplishing. There are so many complications and obstacles that life will put in your path, don't let your job be one of them. There is a lot about life and learning that you will master along the way, happiness is at the for front of it all. What you choose to do in life should make you happy, period. Look for that and don't hesitate. From me.
