Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

Kelly

No I don't think they are accurate. Obviously there are parties, just like every other school, but we also care about our grades.

Jenny

yes and no. Yes because if you want to party, you usually don't have a problem finding one on the weekends and such. But no because if you there are a million other things going on around campus every single day and night that you can participate in and get involved in so that if you don't want to party, you can still have fun and make friends no problem. So yes, there are parties that go on, but its no different than any other university out there. In fact, I think that it is probably better in the sense that we look out for each other here, we know each other, and we are all friends with each other. Even though its a pretty standard sized school and campus, it is still a really close school that you don't seem to find anywhere else.

Meagan

I think they are to an extent, but I don't feel that our school parties any more then most colleges

Amanda

No

Scott

To an extent every college is a party school. However, you get just as good as an education as you would at a larger university.

Rachelle

No, I know alot of students who are serious about what they want to do. We have alot of good programs here for different majors and I think Central should try to promote them better.

Emily

Some people are obviously not as sophisticated as others but I don't think it's fair to give everyone that stereotype.

Dana

No, I feel that any school can be a big party school if the individual doing the parties lets it get out of control. I feel that Central accepts people with lower high school GPA's than other Michigan Universities, but those students are expected to and DO do as well as anyone else in their given programs.

Lauren

Not at all

Jessie

Not at all.

Rich

I think that while yes, there are alot of parties here it should not be a direct reflection of the inteligence of campus. There are alot of very inteligent people attending CMU.

Peter

No

Lauren

No.

Thomas

No central is a great school

Liz

To some extent, it really depends on the person you meet. Sometimes you'll run into an individual who will fit that description to a T, other times they do not fit it at all.

Chelsea

For the most part. I feel like EVERY school parties so to call a school a party school I feel is not accurate.

Ashley

No, many students are involved in extracurricular activities, as well as work while attending school. We know how to have a good time, and balance school, plus work, but because this is such a small town without a lot else doing on, many people look at the bad that happens and not the good.

Megan

No, we have some great programs here and really smart students.
