Central Michigan University Top Questions

Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

Ben

Not all of them are accurate. Statistically there are more white people than any other nationality at CMU. Also many people drink, but they are not out to defile themselves like most people think. In fact most Christian groups on campus look down on people that like to party.

Kristen

No, because honestly, what college isn't a big party school? There are going to be a lot of parties no matter what college you attend.

Katie

No, the sterotype isn't accurate.

Allison

No.

Wade

Of course not. Plenty of athletes care about their academics, I actually think it's the other was around. I feel like more athletes care about their academics than do people who aren't involved in any extracurriculars.

Harper

Katelyn

No- you have the ability to decide how you want to spend your time throughout your college experience.

Alex

Yes and no. Just like any other community there is a wide variety of personalities.

Rachel

No. People do party, but that happens at every school. I don't think CMU students party any more than students at other schools. The school does care a lot about football, especially because of the great records we've had in the last couple years. However, I haven't seen anything that demonstrates that they are neglecting other areas.

There is definitely a social aspect to life at CMU and always a party to go to, but there are real classes & student get a quality education.
