Central Oregon Community College is a great place for students to start their college journey at. There are a wide variety of academic programs and student organizations. The one thing that stands out is the campus location. Situated in the West Hills overlooking the town of Bend, Oregon, and not far from the Cascade Lakes Highway, students are presented with the opportunity to enjoy local shops, or make a trip to the many lakes and Mt. Bachelor.
COCC is a great school. They have opportunities for any different type of student (race, gender, ethnicity, hobbies, etc.) They are very inclusive and they are a good transition school into a 4-year University. I started COCC when I was 14 through a program, and the professors helped me make sure I knew what I was doing the whole way through.
COCC has been an amazing university! They have helped me so much through my Associate’s Degree. I don’t know where I would be without my community college. I have found fantastic support through so many of my professors. They truly care about the students and their wellbeing.
I have completely enjoyed studying and learning here with the variety of students, along with all of my instructors that have been very helpful and accommodating with any and all questions I may have. Interaction in class with fellow students and out of class has been one aspect I did not expect to be so easy and enjoyable, as I am the oldest student in most of my classes and in some cases older then my instructors. At first I thought that my age would be an issue, but everyone here has made the transmission an easy one.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Central Oregon Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Don't take a break after graduation. Keep with it because it is a lot harder going back later then sooner.
I wish I would have known how much money to save up for school and other bills I have. I guess I am refering to college life in general because there are a lot of unforseen expensis. If one doesn't prepare well enough they could be out of money before they are finished with the school year. It is very hard to buy a class room knowing that you have to pay your other bills at the end of the month.
My class mates are very interesting, brilliant, and fun to be around for me .
Positive enviroment to learn, the teachers and staff are extremely helpful when answering questions.
Central Oregon Community College is beyond unique because of it's beautiful campus that shows off the amazing Central Oregon scenery. The classes here are small, and there are no classes on Fridays. This making it awesome for all the great outdoors and clubs Bend and COCC have to offer.
This is a great school and I truly feel that it is open to anyone seeking to further their education. If you enjoy a beautiful campus, caring instructors, fun clubs then COCC is the school for you. If you are a serious student who likes to also have an active outdoor life this is a great location. COCC offers the feel of a small community college, but you have access to world class instructors. So if you are ready to step up your educational options, have some fun in the great outdoors then take a look at COCC.
You can earn a degree that will be from OSU not a community college if you choose to be a Oregon State Major.
The worst thing about my school would have to be the price of oour class room books. Just three book can cost around $300 for one trimester. I would also like to see a meal deal for the campus lunch. I am currently buying lunch 2 times a week, which is an average of $70 a month. If they could make a meal deal it would really save me some money. They could charge $50 a month for meals, or lower the prices on the food they serve.
living off camous when it snows.
The faculty, everyone here are extremely nice and eager to help, whether it is just by answering some questions or explaing something to you. It has been wonderful coming to this school, I have learned so many new things and made many new friends.
COCC is has a very ecletic and artistic feel to it. We have a very diverse student body for the area which also contributes to that feeling and students can't help but feel welcome.
Central Oregon Community College is a small town college trying to look like a bigger in-the-know school. but the admin and financial aid people are overworked and hard to talk with. Especially the department heads. I wanted the small school attitude to be there to uplift and support the studnets when they have questions and help you solve problems, rather than create yet another one. This school gets bogged down in paperwork, instead of epople work. The teacher s are great though. The teachers here will go out of their way , spending after hours to make sure the studnets succeed in the classes. the discussions in class will challenge your thinking. And the studnets from Oregon, especially, are friendly and very polite. Overall, I'd give the school a 4 out of ten possible points.
I am a firm believer that anyone can go to college. My only thing to add to that, is that you really need to be committed to your education. Do not just attend college on a whim. Be dedicated to yourself and your learning.
