Chaminade University of Honolulu, may be a small college campus, but it is not to be underestimated. The professors, are very knowledgeable of their own subjects. What I really liked about the university is that the sizes of the classes are very small, which makes it easier to get to know new people and participate in class discussions. The campus atmosphere is very friendly and calm. The students, faculty and staff are extremely kind.

It's a super easy school if I am being quite honest. I wish I could attend another college but I'm already set here so it's fine. I'll grow to love it.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Chaminade is a gem nestled at the bottom of St. Louis Heights. The class sizes are perfect for progressive in class discussions and the community is small but warm and accepting. The professors are almost always available through various methods and will always address you by name and ask how you're doing. Although tenure has an effect on a percentage of professors in academia, it does not have an effect on the staff at Chaminade.

Chaminade University of Honolulu is a small, safe university. Because of the small size, the staff and professors are very willing to help and are extremely caring and encouraging of their students. You can feel that it is a very positive environment!

Chaminade University of Honolulu is a very diverse and exceptionally challenging school. There are always activities to get involved to as well as the professors being very hands-on and persistent in helping their students achieve their goals. With the school residing in the Aloha State, you can very much find everyone on campus providing one another with aloha and love. I personally would recommend my school to people.

Small school that will take you far

I'm about halfway through my MBA at Chaminade University and am amazed at the amount of influence the school has in the global community. The networking opportunities alone are worth attending Chaminade. Classes are engaging, students are passionate and professors all have expansive backgrounds and years of applicable experience. You don't just learn from a book at Chaminade, you learn from each other and apply those skills in real world situations.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

When I was in high school, I thought planning for college and my future would be so easy. I thought it was just knowing what college I wanted to go to, what I wanted to major in, and what career I saw myself in. I was completely wrong. I didn't think of the finance, the courses i would have to take, how many credits I want to start with, the tuition, where I would stay and so much more. I should have done deep research about college. Preparing for college academically, for example high school GPA, wasn't so hard but it didn't mean i was prepared completely. The most important thing i had to do was to prepare ahead of time which is something i still need to do. An advice I would give myself is do deep research and prepare. If I was still a high school senior, I would ask college students about college life concerning academics, resident, social, mentally, and emotionally. I would searchdifferent scholarships that will help with my tuition, learn more about financial aid, and much more. I just have to be prepared.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Lessons are not taught in lecture halls and the amount of students in class are decent. We have class in actual classrooms which helps students get more involved with the discussion. The instructors and faculty encourage effective interactions between them and students. There are a lot of available resources for many things such as counseling. The people are very friendly and nice.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The tuition is expensive especially the dorms and a meal plan. They even fine us for simple things such as not attending a mandatory dorm meeting and the fines are expensive as well. The location of my school is also on a hill so it gets very tiring walking to classes and to my dorm.
