My school is best known for its Forensic Science program. Chaminade University of Honolulu is the only school that offers an undergraduate and a graduate program in the Forensic Science field.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would simply tell them "don't settle for anything less then everything you deserve." My mom told me that and I plan on following her advice. It basically means that don't strive for anything less then what you want and what you believe is right for you. Your college experience is a once in a life time experience, so make it count!

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about my school is that it is too small. It was nice my first year of college because I was always able to find my friends and hang out with them. Now in my second year at this school, seeing the same people and always being so close together starts a lot of problems between people. The school is so small that when you say something to one person it spreads like wildfire around the school and it is starts a lot of problems.

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

A great place to make friends, have fun, and get a great education in the middle of the Pacific.

Class sizes are perfect; small enough to know most others but large enough for meaningfull discussions. The very wide ethnic and cultural diversity is something to be cherished. For the most part, the faculty and staff are willing to help in any situation.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Find if and what your preference is on- State/area, average class size, programs/majors and just do some research on the school and area.

Take a look at all the schools that accept you then narrow the choice down. Don't not look at a school because your parents suggest that school. I ended up at the school that was my last choice and I am the happiest here.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

That you can take more than 12 credits a semester

Being in the top percential nationwide for their Forensic Science degree, and having most of the graduats placed in a career in less than six months after graduation.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

It has small class sizes then any of the others I looked at, which has lead to me getting to know a lot of different people from around the world and learning from teachers who take pride that the students are learning and doing well in school. Here you are a person not a number.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

My advice on finding the right college is to first figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life even if that means going to the local college for a year or two and take different classes that sound interesting to you, once you know what will make you happy for the rest of you life do a search of what college's offer a degree in that field and what type of degree it is. Once you have that narrowed down then look at what they have to offer in a social and acadmic setting then go a head and apply to the ones you have narrowed down. When you get to college the first few weeks will be scary and exciting for you, make the most of it by getting to know not only kids your age but some of the upperclassmen who can show you the ropes and how to balance studing and partying. Don't be afraid to make mistakes just be yourself and remember to call home once a week so that your parent's don't think you dropped off the face of this earth. Just remember to have fun!!!

It's challenging but laid back at the same time.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Let them choose the right school that's for them. Do not force your kids to go to any school they do not want to go to. And kids, make the best out of your college experience before you start working in the real world.

What kind of person should attend this school?

Everyone! I believe in equality.
