It is an amazing school with endless opportunities. The small campus size allows me to feel like I make a difference in the community and I have a strong voice when it comes to school issues. We are right next to Lake Champlain and the mountains so the scenery is beautiful all year round. There is a strong sense of community and friendly support on campus.

While it has its ups and downs, I personally believe that Champlain is a great college to attend for technology based majors. Especially for my specific major, Game Design and Game programming. While the food is notorious, Champlain makes up for it with its beautiful campus made of restored Victorian mansions right on Lake Champlain. The staff are always interested in what students have to say and encourage debates and questions, this creates a friendly and knowledgeable environment for the students. Overall Champlain College while costing an extreme amount of money to attend continues to encourage me to push myself academically.

The staff is passionate, as are the students. Champlain college wants to prepare you as an independent for the workforce. They care about students deeply and keep the campus clean. There are always activities for students to do, and here you find one of the best "college experiences". Burlington and the lakefront are beautiful, and South Burlington and the UMall are a bus ride away. In the warm days, you can walk to Church Street and get Ben and Jerry's and goof around in a comfortable setting with your friends. The opportunities for studying abroad are massive, they really want you to go somewhere, and will even pay for your passport. The support systems are great, and the campus is diverse and inclusive to everyone. Students are encouraged to be exactly who they want to be.

SHopping, famer's markets, music. Small classes diverse student body. Close to skiing and lots of outdoor activities. Discounted ski passes are great too!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

It is a wonderful school but the meal plan is one of the worst. A full meal plan is required if you live in on campus housing and the food is disgusting. Avoid at all cost, find somewhere off campus to live. The core classes are a great experience compared to the usual gen-ed requirements.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

If you can't go to Hogwarts, Champlain is the next best thing. It is truly magical not only because of the strong academics but also because of the campus environment, of both the physical location and the people. Champlain students are the weirdest group of people I know but I use this term endearingly. Because we are all weird in our own ways and at Champlain we can embrace this weirdness and use it as a strength. Creative students in particular will especially thrive at Champlain and the artistic talent of these students is quite incredible. The curriculum is focused on doing more of what you love and helping you improve your strengths. Champlain cares less about grades and more about future success in the real world of Muggles. While we may not graduate wizards, we will be able to apply our unique skills to whatever comes our way.

I attend online, and the program had been great so far. Easy to work with and a good balance between work, school, and life. The school resources are easily accessible too, with a ton of library materials available online. Overall it is a good school and works well with their students.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Champlain College is a good school as long as you are within the lines of the liberal political agenda. For a school that teaches diversity, the student and faculty views on anything remotely right wing are borderline hostile. Despite this, there are a lot of nice, understanding students as well and most of the professors have been in the field that they are teaching and are not shy to provide tips and help to their students.

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

We are a small, career-focused (bordering on obsessed) school that's biggest goal is to give you an education not only in your field of study, but in liberal arts that will help in any career path.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

College is more than the campus you walk through and the classes you take. It's a time of your life the flies by faster than high school ever did. It's the last time you will ever be made to read and write and do home work. You might feel elated by this as a high school senior, but let me tell you, as a college senior, you are saddened. This is the last time you will ever be made to read and write and do home work. The last time. So enjoy every second of it! Enjoy the all-nighters and the twenty page research papers and the chapters upon chapters of reading, because this is it. Delve into everything your teachers give you. Don't brush it aside. Live it and learn it and question it with vigour. Treat everything you're taught like it's the last thing you'll be taught because in four years that feel like four days, it will be. When you're finally on that stage and you get that diploma, feel grateful and take all you've learned and promise yourself that this is not the end, but the beginning.

What kind of person should attend this school?

People that like smaller communities, who want to be a name and not just a number, and students that are really looking for something in the business/liberal arts words. We are not a science college. We don't do research like that here. Also, the Vermont culture is very important. Hiking, skiing, being eco-friendly are all important here.
