It's a really good school, the school has a nice scenery and size. The food is really good and the people are friendly and feel like family. The overall feeling of the campus is homey, it feels like a home away from home. I could not see myself going to any other school because they don't offer me the same comfort that this school offers.
Chatham University is a wonderfully small, private school in the city of Pittsburgh. It has the perfect combination of a small school feel while also being able to make you feel like you are a part of a bigger community. There is always something going on both on and off campus. The academics are great and the professors are exceptional. It is a wonderful campus and if you are looking for a small school in the middle of the city Chatham is the place for you!!
Chatham is a good school, but it wasn't the right fit for me. The classes available are interesting and somewhat challenging, but there isn't as wide a variety as I would have hoped. Also, despite being in the middle of Pittsburgh it feels very isolated, which may be a draw for some but can begin to feel claustrophobic, especially since the class size is so small. While I've made good friends there and have taken some very interesting classes, I don't feel as though Chatham is helping me grow as much as I would have liked. There are also the problems such as public safety's faulty record keeping and the ceilings of some dorms falling in, that don't make me feel safe on campus. So while Chatham is a good school and a good fit for some, it wasn't right for me.
My overall opinion of Chatham University is that it is a small school located on a beautiful campus in Pittsburgh. There are some negatives to the school, but overall I love it because it is exactly what I want out of a school. The school accommodates my medical conditions, the professors are always there to help me, and the campus is located near a large city with a lot of activities.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Chatham University is 52%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I would have told myself to study harder. A challenge is ok and actually a good thing, not something to run away from. You must keep focused on your goals no matter what and learn to loosen up a little. You are going to meet wonderful and interesting people, so don't be afraid to make some new friends. Life gets much harder after high school than you think, stay at the top of your game and don't falter, or you'll regret it.
Chatham is a very welcoming school.
What to bring and how much money to set aside for certain things.
Close-minded people should never attend this school. Chatham University preaches diversity and acceptance of others regardless of who they are. Someone who is bigoted in any way will actually be shunned by the student body for their ignorance.
My classmates shout their beliefs to the world and ignore them in their actions.
The food has got to be the worst.
The dedication of the faculty towards the students. They are the reason the Chatham feels more like a home and less strange.
The expendable class schedules.
So far, there is nothing that has frustrated me at Chatham Univeristy.
Our school is best known for it's interactive professors and small size. Although it is an all woman's college there are still men around the campus. We are also known for our diversity and enviornmentally friendliness.
My school is all about the education and impowerment for women. It is a World Ready Women's college built to create strong minded, intelligent, and powerful women that's going to make a change in the world.
Someone who is focused on getting a hig quality education and being a world-ready women.
Chatham University's academics are great as long as you take advantage of what the professors have to offer! All of my professors know me by name and even some of the professors I have never had know my name too! My favorite class at Chatham has definitely been my Organic Chemistry class. I know you are probably disgusted, but trust me - Dr. Lettan makes it so awesome! I was so worried going into the class due to the stereotypical "Organic Chemistry is so hard" comment from every college. Although it was challenging, I took advantage of one-on-one help sessions and any extra help that was offered. Engaging with my professor helped me to succeed. Class participation is usually pretty high unless you have an early morning class. Even then, however, the professors may make you do jumping jacks or something else to wake up! The science program is great at Chatham. Being able to communicate with your professor about difficult topics in a timely fashion definitely helps success. After class, my friends and I have had intellectual conversations in our cafe. I commonly see class topics move outside of the classroom. Sometimes a professor may even tag along and will talk to you about things from class or just normal, every day topics. I wouldn't be surprised if they joined me for lunch or sat down with me in the cafe! Overall, Chatham University provides a well-rounded liberal arts education that is geared toward making you world ready, incorporating both job knowledge and a general appreciation for your field.
Chatham University is an all-women's college in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The common negative stereotype is that an all-women's college indicates many homosexuals in the population. While this is not necessarily false, the population is not entirely homosexual. Additionally, this should not be a factor in the college decision. Chatham University also has the common stereotype of being an institution that hones world ready women who are inspired to make a difference in the world. I can wholeheartedly agree with this stereotype. Those same women who may or may not be a homosexual are also the women who will make a difference in the local and global communities.
Some of the most popular student activities and groups include the Battle of the Classes, our Thanksgiving dinner, and Relay for Life.
The best part about attending Chatham University is being a NAME and NOT A NUMBER. It is extraordinarily easy to build a relationship with faculty, staff, and administration. I have built many relationships that I would not trade for the world with faculty. The administration is willing to listen to all student issues and changes can be made. If you are dissatisfied and can get a supporting group of students to your opinion, the issue will more than likely be addressed and your dissatisfaction changed. Due to the intimate relationships that can be built, academic success is easy to come by with hard work. Chatham University is the perfect size for someone who wants to be known. If you want to be noticed, choose Chatham. If you are worried about being in a small classroom, don't. But what I can tell you is that the atmosphere here is not like anything you have felt before. When people hear "Chatham University," their first reaction is that you go to an all-women's college. But then when you show them the school and tell them about the immense amount of activities, they have a new impression. Chatham is a hidden oasis located off of 5th Avenue in Pittsburgh. It is serene and more beautiful than anything else in all seasons. The surrounding area has plenty of shops, wellness facilities, and restaurants. From Amazing Yoga in Shadyside to Aladdin's in Squirrel Hill, you will never be dissatisfied. Some of the most common student complaints I have heard are that there is nothing to do. Don't listen to them. If you are willing to read bulletin boards or go off campus, there are so many things to do! You can also make your own fun. Sledding on Chapel Hill is something I will always remember! Chatham University is the place for you if you want to be an independent woman, ready to make a change and have a name for yourself.
