Typically a Chestnut Hill student is stereotyped as being extremely well rounded. Most students in the community are involved in several different things including sports, clubs, and other groups.

I think the main stereotype of students at my school would be the jocks. We are a small school but we have a lot of sports teams so a significant number of the students on campus are athletes. And among that number are a few of your "stereotypical jocks."

I have heard that, as a majority, our campus comes off as a bunch of jocks. While we do have a large population on student athletes, we also have a wide variety of different groups on campus. From theater kids to hipsters, to nerds and geeks, we seem to have a little bit of everything. In all honesty, the lines between these stereotypes are very blurred. Many of the students at CHC are involved in many different activities and therefore become friends with people from all different backgrounds and with very different personalities. I like to say that the people here at CHC are my favorite aspect of the campus because they all may be different, but most people that I come across have a heart of gold.

overall a large portion of our student body is athletes but the non-student athletes have so much to offer as well I don't think they get recognized or credited the way athletes do.

I think some stereotypes of students at Chestnut Hill College may be athletes, performers, and student leaders. But while these "stereotypes" may accurately represent some of the CHC student body, I think that most Chestnut Hill students endevour to be part of the entire community as well. One of the great things about going to a small school like Chestnut Hill is that you can get your hand in almost every activity you are interested in - and really make it work! There are so many great resources and opportunites for involvement on campus - from volunteering to do community service to playing a Division II sport (even for the first time!) to running for student government - there are definitely ways to fill up your weekly schedule with fun and rewarding activities that allow you to meet all different people from any different "group" on campus.

At Chestnut Hill College we have 14 Division II teams. Having such a small student to faculty ratio (11:1) and so many sports teams means that a large portion of our student population are student athletes. This is by no means a bad thing! We have plenty of athletes that break out of the typical "jock" stereotype and are extremely involved in campus activities.
