I transferred from RWU to come to CU and it is one of the greatest decisions I ever made. I love my HBCU. We are the first school for higher learning from African Americans and we are reminded that daily and it is a great feeling. Our professors are brilliant and they work hard to make sure the students get everything they need.
It’s a great school the campus is a nice size and it’s not too big we’re you'll get lost but I like everything about it especially the dorms and I like how you have better chance to interact with a teacher because the class sizes aren’t to big. I also like that it has a lot of culture and is looking to rebuild and become even better than it is.
Cheyney is a really great school. We have small class sizes and a family atmosphere. There are numerous opportunities available for students to go to new places and try new things. The school may have had a rocky past but they are putting in a lot of work to set it back on the path that it needs to be on.
My overall opinion of Cheyney University is that it is an excellent school to attend. Yes it may be an small institution but from a student who attends The First HBCU, I can brag and say that we are great. We may be a small campus but we are surrounded but a lot of resources and the professors ayretruly here to see you succeed.

If i could go back in time to when i was a high school senior, i would tell myself to actually take the time to research and visit the schools that i applied to. Also, to take the time out to apply for scholorships. Coming to my current university, i was surprised at many things i discovered. If i taken a little more time into my college application process, i would have known exactly what i was getting myself into.
Cheyney University is a very welcoming friendly school. Although its a historically black university, i feel it should be more diverse. The university actually has a good amount of diversity in the faculty, but It should also apply in the student population. Cheyney has a variety of excellent professors teaching here, but there are also the professors that just pass students by. Most of the classes offered are challeneging and this is actually a great thing.
My classmates are very respectful and easy to taalk to
Small campus with small classrooms and very supportive faculty.
I wish I would of known the rate of graduates that are prepared for the workforce and the rate of graduates that are helped to land careers upon graduation.
i feel anyone that has pride for their culture and who wants to a small historically black university.
Its one thing about Cheyney University that I dont like is their majors. Im really interested in Physical Theraphy, and Cheyney doesnt have an courses for it. So I'm now I'm currently undecided
What kind of person shouldnt attend Cheyney University ? A person who dosent want a good education shouldnt go too Cheyney. Cheyney University is a very serious college. Its a very small school so its easy for your teachers to get to know you. You'll gain alot of knowledge attend and learn about the history of Cheyney.
When I tell friends about my school, I let them know that no matter how bad people say it is, it is a great school to attend. People graduate all the time and land prestigious jobs from my school. Cheyney is a school that makes you put in it what you want to get out of it. We have great professors that will go the extra length for students when students show that they are serious about why they are in college.
The most frustrating think about my school is the dorms. I saw the dorms on the internet and thought, this is really nice and i cant waite to get there and add my own touch. I got so frustrated when my mother took me to college an we went into the dorm. We both could not believe our eyes. For the money that we are paying to reside in this dorm. There was no elevator for us to carry my belongings up to the 3rd floor. The stairway walls was dirty and my room was crummy.
Being the first historically black institution for african americans
What makes this school unique to the other schools that I applied to is that this school is smaller and the class size is not overwhelming. The professor is able to know each student by name and give individual attention when needed.
Cheyney University is what an individual themselves make it to be.
Academics are set at appropriate levels for different type of students.
The stereotype is that all the students are from Philadelphia, PA which is not true.
