Be your own person! Starting a new school, full of older people is often times scary and it will leave you vulnerable to making bad decisions. Let your heart be your guide. If you know it's wrong, stay away from it! In the mean time, keep your mind away from people who make fun of you because of the clothes you wear, your hair, make up, etc... choose what makes you happy and own it! Those people will be non existent after High School so it's easier to let it all go from the beginning!
Worst thing about my school would have to be that I can't attend traditional classes since I live an hour away. I have been trying to raise money to be able to travel back and forth.
I think the worst thing about my school is the administration does not seem concerned with student success or achievement. It seems like many students are just going through the motions of school with no real goals or plans of action. Lucky for myself, I was able to take control of my college career/goals and now I feel like I have a bright future, even if I did make a few mistakes along the way. Unfortunately, many students drop out or give up because they just feel defeated. The path to success is rarely a straight line.
Since I have not yet begun my educational experience , I can not say that I have discovered a "worst". The only negative aspect that I have encountered so far is that because it is a community college, I am not eligible for certain grants, which increases loan costs.
I love Cincinnati State, but it seems like many of the students are not involved in any on-campus activities. I know there are clubs and organizations to join, but it doesn't seem like they are active in engaging the student. As a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, I will occasionally get an e-mail every couple of months from the national PTK organization annoucing discounts on their merchandise online. It's disheartening to know that I'm a member of this great group of talented students and nothing's ever going on!
It is sometimes hard to get into classes that you need at a time that is available because the most popular times offered always fill up fast.
