It is a cheap alternative to get your basic classes done.
I always brag about my teachers and the material I'm learning. For example, this semester I absolutely love my English class. The main outcome of this class is to "demonstrate a mastery of the principles of logic, organization, and documentation/citation in MLA format." In order to achieve this outcome we read graphic novels (Marvel and DC comics). I have a new a appreciation for Batman and graphic novels. They're not just entertaining heroic stories with amazing drawings; they're works of art that have meaningful ideas, thoughts, and different representations of worldly issues like crime and corruption.
I initially thought I would be too ashamed to admit to attending a community college, but after attending during the summer and fall of 2009, I realized that there was nothing to be ashamed of. The students are friendly and easy to get along with because we can relate to one another. We all have different backgrounds and several of my classmates are much older and wiser than I am. I tell my friends who attend universities that the work is challenging and my brain feels more stimulated now than it did in high school.
