Coastal Carolina University Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Corissa

The most frustrating thing about my school is the student parking. I find it ridiculous that we must drive around for over 20 minutes to fight over a parking spot. Also I think the officers need to be more strict on people who park in the commuter parking lots, their are residents parking there and they live on campus it literally takes them five minutes to get anywhere on campus.

Jenna

The amount of parking for students. Each year the Student Goverment would work with the University to work on different scenarios to resolve the issue, it is actively being worked on.

Taylor

I love many things about this university: the professors, advisors, classes, location, etc. To be quite honest, the most frustrating thing about CCU is the parking. There is HARDLY enough parking for all the students commuting to and from school.

Sean

My first year, I was suppose to be in an apartment with some other students I met during orientation. When I got to the Coastal on move in weekend, I found out that I was in a 2 room dorm with 2 other students that I didn't know. It was very cramped. I was told that due to the overwhelming amount of incoming freshman that housing was an issue. As it turned out, one of my roommates left and the other turned out to be a great guy.

Kevin

Many people are from out of state and tend to act like it is their old hometown. Many of which cannot drive.

Brianna

The runaround you get when you have a problem or need information. Everyone seems to send you to someone else and no one ever has a solution to your problem. I have constantly gotten contradictory information from different administrators, professors and faculty members.

Brittany

The first year is the hardest and most frustrating for me. You have to learn where you fit in or belong. Most students are out of state so no one really knows anyone else. Finding your niche was frustrating for me because I really didn't know who I was when I first arrived at Coastal.

Ashley

Sometimes, parking is hard to find, but they are working on that.

Reid

They are cracking down on parties. Also there could be more campus involvment from the students becasue most all involvement is done by a select group of people that paricipate a lot.

Rebecca

Parking! Our university is growing at a rapid pace, and freshmen are permitted to have cars on campus. Parking spots are scarce, and students become easily frustrated when looking for a spot before classes.

Kyle

The most frustrating thing about my school is parking. There is not enough parking for everyone to get a spot near his or her class and it disappoints me that this school has such a good reputation yet, it is hard for people to park. Also, CCU allows freshman to drive, which is another obstacle upper-classman have to face.

Brett

The most frustrating thing about my school is that most of the students are party-goers. However, they still do well in their classes.
