There's a fairly large mix. There are some who do not care about their majors and are just staying in school for another four years before they get to the real world. On the other hand, there are also individuals who are truly brilliant, and want nothing more than to excel. Both groups have stress involved, and at some point almost everyone wonders if what they're doing is really worth it, but such moments are dampened by the fact that there are plenty of other people in the same position, and everyone works together toward their goals.
About half are driven to succeed in their education, while the other half prefer the social aspect of college, seeking ways in which they can become intoxicated.
My classmates are a mix of students who are for the most part either exceptionally gifted in their area of study, or are interested in many different fields of study.
My classmates come from a variety of different backgrounds and states, ranging from California to Japan. The variety makes it a great way to get to know people from different lifestyles and traditions. It also makes the learning experience more exciting because different opinions in the classroom help to improve the learning quality.
I would describe my classmates as very personable and extremely willing to help anyone with either their academic work or just willing to be friends with anyone.
Most are energetic, liberal minded, enjoy arguing/debating their views/opinions/causes with just about anybody. Most are more concerned with the college experience over the grades that come with it, not that they don't enjoy or take their classes seriously, there's simply less concern over letter grades than what they feel they get out of their classes.
