The best thing about my school is the campus. It is so beautiful and the large diversity in the different seasons unites the students. In the downpours of freezing rain we all slosh to the dining halls bitterly; in the spring we all laugh and play on the quad under pretty blue skies; in the spring we all gingerly and reluctantly splash in the mud, and in the fall we all watch in stunned awe at the beauty of the changing leaves on the trees.
The best thing about Colby is the accessibility and investment of the faculty. They are amazing; always available when a student has a question and you'll see them supporting the community at show, club events, sporting events, and serving on all kinds of committees. They are also extremely intelligent and, in many cases, the top of their chosen field.
The best thiing about Colby is its sense of community. Whether I'm walking to class, going through my dorm, or just in the dining hall, everyone's really nice and considerate and compassionate. We are respectful and open towards all walks of life. It sounds cliche, but we love learning about other people: their backgrounds, their hometowns, and how it compares to the Colby community. We are proud to go here and participate in what Colby has to offer- which is a lot.
The sense of tradition, community, and shared ideology that is fostered on campus.
Academics, small school atmosphere, location in rural Maine, school pride
The best thing about Colby are a handfull of incredible professors that teach here.
